Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question. . .
My BT Chauncey came in the mail yesterday - it is so cute! Unfortunately, it came squished flat in a mailer envelope so I will dunk to try and reshape. My question is if the sides are meant to fold into the bag or stick out. . . does anyone have a catalog pic of how it should look? Thanks!!

I think they are supposed to fold in but you could try them out to see how it looks, since it might hold more that way. Here's a catalog pic.

Well, here are the finished results of my black vintage Taft bag......love her!!

Before and afters, she had a missing area on one part of the piping which I used leather glue and edge kote on. It blends in much better now and isn't as noticeable.

Oh my! What a transformation. She looks gorgeous! Are they a roomy bag?
Thanks fuzzy! Yes, for being an older bag (which are usually way too small for me for everyday use) this one is quite large.
The front outside flap alone is about 10" wide and the bag itself is 12" across on the bottom and about 9" high in the center. There's a center zipper with an open flap across the back inside and a ton of room in the main compartment. The outside pocket on front is great to hold so many things like phone, receipts, mints, etc.

The width is about 4" across on the bottom.

The strap is thick and meaty and it can be worn either on the shoulder or cross body with ease.
Can you tell I like it:graucho::graucho:

I'll have to be on the lookout for a Taft. I love bags with enough real estate to put my essentials in unless I'm just going to a show and dinner or something like that. It is a very classical shape and style.

Yes, keep your eyes open. I think they're a bit harder to find because a lot of people don't know the name of this particular bag. I saw mine on eBay and it looked like it had been on the bottom of someone's closet (with a bunch of stuff on top of it!) for years!
I had no idea what it was called but did some research and found out.

Be careful though, after I bought mine I came across threads saying that this is a very much 'faked' bag so you need to be careful. Hyacinth was nice enough to authenticate mine which I would recommend if you find one.

It will be a great everyday bag for me to add to my rotation!

Yes, extremely faked. I say that 8 out of 10 listed are fake. They used to be very expensive on ebay; now because of all the fakes, they are going very cheap. People are afraid to bid.

Wow, no wonder they are going cheap! There is another bag that I've always loved but every time I ask for an authentication they've ended up fake so I've given up on finding one.

Thanks for that info whateve......I guess I got lucky. My bag was only $35.
If I had known how 'faked' they were I probably wouldn't have bid, but in this instance ignorance was bliss and I got lucky.

Wowsa! Isn't it amazing what can be done with these old Coach bags? You really brought her back to life. LOVE the fob! So sassy, it suits her!
