The warm weather is coming and it's nice to have a small, comfortable bag to carry "just the essentials" when you are out walking or attending a fair or other event.

More than a decade ago, I bought a small black and silver Kristin Crossbody 45128 with a built-in wallet, and I still use it often. It's comfortable, organized, and easy to carry. It holds more than a large wristlet but it's not big or heavy and the crossbody strap makes it easy to carry hands-free.

In case someone is interested, I've just seen a similar bag (not authenticated) on Poshmark in tan/brown with embossed trim. It's listed for $19 OBO and it has some wear and it needs some TLC, but I don't think that it looks too bad.

Below are links to the bag that's currently listed on PM, and also the link for photos of my little black Kristin bag, fully loaded. Remember that I bought this bag back when flip-phones were popular, but I can still carry my iphone inside it nowadays!

Note: Coach made many other versions of this bag (some were MFF) that didn't have the built-in wallet; so if you want one with a wallet be sure to check the listing carefully! Also, my black bag has a leather built-in wallet, but the bag on Poshmark has cloth slots for the wallet.

I was actually very surprised to see they put this in the buy it now section. this could easily fetch some high $$$ in bids.

I just checked and it's sold.
Not long ago, a green Ergo flap on GW sold for something like $400. Wowza!

I often see bidding go sky-high, then weeks later the same bag reappears and the auction starts again. Winnies and Ergos are the main culprits. There's a black Winnie currently on its third go-around (that I've seen).

Maybe GW decided to eliminate the madness and just set a price! And it worked.

OMFG IT'S BACK UP.

Great find! That's some interesting notes about leather care in there. Shoe wax???? No thanks! But thanks for sharing the documents too. Those are fun to find. Looks like it might not need any conditioner but my go to for a quick easy condition is always leather CPR. It soaks in really fast and doesn't change the color.
Shoe wax is not the same as shoe polish. I wonder if some people use shoe polish on the coach bags thinking that it’s the same thing and ruin the bags as a result?

Every bag is an experimentation. On this one I used Aileen's leather glue to smooth the ripped areas back in place with my fingers. Let it dry. Then, puffy black fabric paint (like for writing on t-shirts from Michael's craft store), and let it dry. Then, black leather dye. Sometimes I mix the leather glue and fabric paint together and apply it. It's thick and gloppy so you can kind of "sculpt" it. Let it dry. Sometimes I'll sand the area to get it smooth and more fabric paint goes on top. If it's too shiny, I tamp down the shine with black leather dye on top of that.
Thanks so much for sharing that process! I have a Willis arriving on Thursday (my first one…so excited can’t wait😆) and the pics show the bag pretty much in tact but the corners do need some repair which I may be able to do using your process. I think I’ll go back to Joann’s and get the fabric black puffy paint, I did get the leather glue, now I’ll know how to give it some TLC. I’m also on the hunt for a not so expensive white Coach essential tearose bag charm like the one Vintage Coach Collector on YouTube has. It’s beautiful but wow the charms are sometimes more expensive than the bags?! I look forward to dressing up my babies👗. It reminds me of playing with my paper dolls (yes I am that old! 😂)

I got the most filthy bag I've ever seen from shopgoodwill.com. I think the owner must have used it as a pet carrier? Full of hair and gunk. Top edging peeling up and pieces of edging missing. Anyway, for $8.95, and with a zip coin purse as well, I wasn't expecting much. Actually, after the dunk, it's a gorgeous bag! "Elle Chain Tote." Retailed for $398. I love it so much I think it's for me. Just starting the full rehab. Two "before" and some in progress photos. I glued down the trim with leather glue and did a first layer of EdgeKote for the areas needing building up.

WOW!!!! You did an amazing clean up on that bag! I’ve generally stayed away from the newer Coach bags, but I really like that bag! Please show how she looks when finished.

Spring is in the air. I just got done cleaning the Manor bag. She’s drying currently.

wow beautiful cleanup. I'd love to see what you do with that edging/piping also, I can't seem to get worn or split edging rehabbed correctly.

Filth is deceptive too. I'd rather have the most filthy bag in the world vs one with cigarette smoke. You can eventually clean a filthy bag in the bathtub, worst case. But a cigarette smoke bag needs to be aired out somewhere for MONTHS. I'm in an apt so that is difficult for me. Sometimes I wonder what it smelled like at restaurants in the 70s when everybody smoked.

OMG and people used to be able to smoke on airplanes too. Rewatching Die Hard 2 reminded me of this. 🥴

I’m an 80s child, and the smell is engrained in my memory. My son was sent home with the wrong coat last year, and when got home I’m like OMG GET IT OFF because it reeked of cigarette smoke.
