hi there, which Loxx fastener did you use? I ordered this loxx fastener and it didn't fit for many reasons.Thought I would share this rehab of my Binocular bag. Just a couple of coats of Leather CPR and a finishing coat of Black Rocks and a small repair on the piping, but what was really interesting was the springlock replacement without any modifications needed to the bag. The first hardware picture is the standard Coach springlock, with the male part of the springlock washer "teeth" that bite into the leather through the skin side which when removed leaves unsightly holes in the leather, that most either fill or use a leather washer to cover up. The Loxx fastener male part has the teeth on the male part which attaches on the suede side then an oversized washer that screws onto that and covers the holes on the skin side. Change out the female side of the springlock (which is identical in application to the Coach) and your done. The second hardware picture is of the Loxx springlock compared to the original Coach springlock. with the Coach being on the top and the Loxx on the bottom.
It is difficult to cover those holes left by the Chinese spring locks. The problem is, people tug at the bag there and after a few uses those holes reemerge from whatever filler you use. The Chinese spring locks are fine if you have a bag to give as a gift.
