It is supposed to be red, but it looks sort of coral except on the bottom - I don't have before pics and I re-dunked the front flap to try and get it flat so I will post pics after it is dry again. I was hoping to upsell but I think I'll be lucky to get my money back. It's scared me right off colored bags.
I rehabbed a couple spectator bags but I never had a red one, just green and black. On one the trim was really discolored. I attempted to recolor it just a bit in the places it was really bad. It was a nightmare keeping the color only on the trim. Oh, I also rehabbed a couple of the newer spectator bags with the cream colored trim. I tried to recolor that trim too.

No, no - not that kind of Spectator Bag. This one. Here is the seller's photo and a catalog pic from the 1987 catalog. Sadly it looks a lot worse now.

Oh, that spectator bag. It looks great in the photo. I wonder why it faded when you rehabbed it. It should have gotten better, not worse. Maybe a bit of recoloring mixed with conditioner will help.

Yes it looks good in the sellers photo, but notice it looks like a faded, almost pink red, which is what I expected and got. However, the color didn't rehab well, so it looks like a coral red, the reinforced bottom rumpled in one corner, and the reshape is a little off so it looks pretty sad to my, admittedly, very critical eye.
Good idea on the recoloring. What recoloring product do you (or anyone else) recommend?

I use bubble wrap instead of towels. I cram them in there tightly to create the shape, (I've got big puffy bubble wrap with giant bubbles and tiny bubblewrap--and I mix and match to stuff it) and then I push inward from the outside until I like the shape. Sometimes I'll grab the bottom of the bag's edges with my fingers and pull and stretch to get it to sit upright. Treat that bag like an army recruit and tell it who's boss. (You are.)
Same, not with the bubble wrap, but with firmly packing the bag and pulling in places. I strategically place towels or rags, usually rolled up, around the edges of the bag and, depending on the bag, stuff the rest with old cut up sheets, which are good at conforming to shape. Of course, you don't want to overstuff. I did that on my first rehab. No bueno. As the bag dries, I usually take out the wet towels, toss them in the drier for a few, and put them in again, making adjustments as needed. And, like @ConnieinSeattle said, I may pinch or pull parts (gently, of course) as the bag dries to get them in the shape I want.

Here's what attracted me to the wallet. Check out the attached kisslock coin purse. :) I think it's so cool.

I think I’m addicted to it! I might hold some sort of record on number of coats used. I haven’t quite developed the same level of adoration for blackrock.
Depending on the bag and what I think it needs, I use either Blackrocks or Obenaufs, sometimes Renapur. Obenaufs conditions more deeply than Blackrocks, I feel, but Blackrocks gives a nice shine. Sometimes I even use both. Lol. Always experimenting!

Project Abbie in process. I think I goofed somewhat. I dyed the bag without removing the under layer of "paint." You can still see some outlines and a weird shine from it. I could strip it all the way down and start over, but I don't think it's probably worth doing. It also looks peculiar (I think) with the brown fabric near the zipper. Should I dye that black, too? Opinions/advice gratefully accepted. It was painted on the back, too, but I didn't take a photo of that.

It looks much better now!
