I have another question. What do y'all use to close the prongs when you put the clasps/twist locks back on after a dunk/cleaning? My jewelry plyers just don't make them flat enough not to scratch items in the front pockets. I would typically flatten metal flush with a jeweler's hammer but that's not possible with the locks. I'm also not able to push them flush as I can't lay them flat. What does everyone use?

I use the tools at the link below that were recommended by @Busykitty for removing and reinstalling hardware and I've found that they work quite well.

I recently finished this authenticated, BT Metropolis 9087 for a girlfriend and wanted to show this lesser known style to newer Coachies. The Metropolis can often be found at a more reasonable cost and is such a timeless, elegant and convenient design!

10" long with a front pocket:

An attached strap with up to approximately a 21" drop which allows for shoulder or crossbody wear (depending on one's build):

3" deep:

It also is the only Coach bag with a handy key fob which attaches by a snap to the interior pocket! (Seller's photo):

Thanks for looking! :flowers:
Thanks for sharing the Metropolis LadaZuri. I now own 3 of these (does that make me a collector ?) in black, ecru and brown. I love, love this style. The black was the first of my coach bags ever and I'm inordinately fond of it, even though it is missing the key fob. (I have not been able to find a replacement). I will have to get my black and ecru ones authenticated, before doing any serious work on them. IMO this is a small bag with a big stomach and truly holds everything I have to carry, without the extra room inviting more stuff than I really need. As you pointed out it is a truly a timeless, elegant design.

Your coach bag looks amazing. Well done job. I have followed some of the directions for this top left square corner of my bag. It’s a hand made bag and I sadly got a slight amount of sunscreen on it. Tried removing it with dawn dish soap and it worked but now the leather was dry and darker. I ended up using a cycle of saddle soap and apple leather cleaner then apple conditioner and collinil delegate cream but it still looks like this. Do I need the renovator by Saphir? Any advice or direction I would be more than grateful for. I paid so much for the bag and it’s broken my heart I can’t fix it.

I think your bag looks beautiful. Was it always mottled in tone? It certainly suits it in my opinion. How does it feel? Maybe deep conditioning with Blackrocks would make it feel softer and even out the tone in time. It is often good to let the bag sit and cure for a couple of weeks (out of sight) before making any permanent decisions. :hugs:

Thank you so much. Yes it came like that. I only used it once and got the sunscreen on it and ever since my heart has hurt. I tried conditioner and nothing will bring the shine back and the fact that whole area is darker really bothers me. It’s hard to capture it in photos. Here is a photo of it in the sun before I ruined it (the last day I was happy :() I was thinking to try Renomat by saphir ?

You could try cleaning it with vinegar. I think anything with oil is going to darken it. If you use Blackrocks on the rest, it might blend the color so it matches better.

Thanks I don’t want to touch the rest of it. I might try the vinegar. Does the renomat have oil? And aw thank you for the hugs. It’s so true letting it cure for a bit does make a difference. Wish I knew that before. :hugs:

Question @LadaZuri @katev @Coachaddict4020 I want to colour refresh my Dinky (hehehehe) but am not sure the best product to add to the conditioner.
Saphir Beaute du Cuir Juvacuir vs Saphir Renovating Cream Recolorant vs acrylic paint vs other. Does anyone have any experience with these products?

Sorry! I didn’t see the notification that I was tagged. Just saw your post now as I was starting to catch up on the thread. I see you’ve received a tonne of helpful input. Good luck with your refresh, I can’t wait to see the results! Again, sorry for not responding, I wasn’t ignoring you!

Another bag for the zit cream experiment. This is weird. The bag has off-white leather with brown leather trim on the inside flap. That trim touched and made discolorations on the bag under the flap.. Does that even happen? Or is this some kind of cheap made knock off (should I ask the authenticate forum)? Also weird, this bag has a protective film sheet intact on the front oval turnlock piece. I've never seen that. The bag does look brand new, maybe some kind of factory second? The creed is also kind of smeary double stamped. J0926-F13957.
