Yea it was the lime green pocket purse. Lol. I guess she thought the guilt trip was going to change my mind.

It’s pretty red flaggy that she never responded to your initial message until your husband opened a case. I think she knew the bag was painted & thought if she ignored you, the problem would just go away

Lengthy, not so good, buying story. Bought a bag on ebay, got the bag, it felt dry and kind of plastic like, so I put some conditioner on it, color wiped off, oh no, well, maybe a warm bath would help...no water seeped through, craaaaaappp! It's painted! Took acetone, yep painted. Mold damage underneath the paint. Upset, messaged seller, said I appreciate how fast she shipped but unfortunately while cleaning the bag I discovered the bag had been painted, I'm a collector and really don't like when I pay over $100 and things aren't as described. Never responded. Few days went by, husband decided to intervene and requested a not as described. Seller responded to that saying, well I didn't know it was painted, I bought it at an antique shop, I'm sorry but I'm not giving you a refund. Ok. I didn't respond, she sent me another message, you cleaned the bag and damaged it, so your not going to be refunded. Ok, asked eBay what to do a few days later, eBay sided with me, said to send the bag back to the seller! Ok, got a message from the seller. Thanks for ruining my bag, ebay is my only source of income since I lost my job to the pandemic, you were only going to flip it and sell it for more. Well ok then.
This is just a risk you take when you become a seller, tough luck. I once got a fake daypack and the seller wouldn’t believe that it wasn’t authentic. I thankfully got to return it because ebay sided with me.

I finished my rust Convertible Clutch a couple of days ago but it’s been raining so it’s been hard to get good lighting. I dunked because the piping was faded and to reshape it. The turnlock had pitting on it which I had to buff out.

The coloring came back and evened out the front and it looks a lot more vibrant in person, plus the leather plumped up. It wasn’t a very complicated rehab except for putting the turnlock back on which has always been a challenge lol.

I find BR and Renapur to be almost identical in texture, application. Early in my rehabbing, I used BR exclusively for finishing. After seeing what Renapur did for valv’s colorful collection, and scraping bottom on my BR container, I ordered Renapur. Since I bought a lot of two! containers of R, I have been using that for the last year.
I agree with the above app of BR / R. LadaZuri has turned me on to warming the bag and the bit of R on the applicator sponge with a hair dryer as well. I did it with my project Rambler and feel like it gave me the missing piece to bring out the best in the leather and gave me the sense the rehab was complete. For now lol.
I plan to ‘warm up’ another bag today, that got lots of conditioner and buff it up.
Eta @Coachaddict4020 I just moved it over here

That's interesting to hear - I've been using R but have BR on the way. Maybe I'll test and compare them, one each on two Basics.

I agree that BlackRocks and Renapur are very similar and I like/use both products. I think that they both give the bag a nice finishing glow but there is one major difference in my opinion. BlackRocks will darken the leather a little, that's not always desirable but when the bag has light areas, dark spots, or uneven coloration that you want to camoflage, then I think that BRs is the better choice.

When it darkens the leather (just a little bit) the flaws may become less noticable. Below are pics of a Camel Willis that I originally finished with Renapur, but I was unhappy with the appearance so I took it back to the bath and redid the rehab, finishing with BlackRocks. It wasn't perfect but I thought that it looked better with BRs.

Ok, so this isn’t a vintage piece and it’s been a long while since I have even done this. First time with a canvas piece. My DH for Christmas gave me my first Coach piece ever......

I never had anything designer and wanted this one little wristlet, I didn’t even know the difference between canvas and leather. Lol

The love of Coach came. Down ward spiral from there. I still have this piece and adore it. Definitely used.

she needed some attention. So I dipped and soaked and scrubbed and polished and conditioned. She looks a little better. And got the loving she needed. I’ll take suggestions too!

The first 4 are before.
last 5 are after.

Hello,

I regularly use the authentication portion of this forum. However, I seldom use this forum, so I hope my format is correct.

I recently purchased a Coach Madison Sutton (4410). The care card was inside the bag and states not to use Coach cleaner nor conditioner. It states to clean with soap and water. My question, how do you clean the inside? The inside of the bag is very clean - no stains. But this is a used bag so how do I sanitize the interior? Thank you.

I use a generic foaming fabric cleaner on my fabric-lined interior bags.

ETA: I also just spray and wipe with some Dettol... Let me shut up and let the experienced and skilled rehabbers take this one:lol::lol::lol:

I've seen Apple Garde mentioned on here but I can't get it in the UK unless I pay enormous shipping and tax. However, I can get the Kiwi ones for a very affordable price. States can be used on suede, leather or textile accessories. I want to use it on my new chalk Dinky and maybe my vintages.

Does anybody have experience with them? Thoughts?

For fabric lined bags, a tiny bit of white vinegar diluted with water in a spray bottle works great. Just spray the interior, wipe & leave it to air dry for a while.

I’ve also used Lysol disinfectant wipes in the past. If you can get the “Sun-kissed Linen” scented ones, they smell lovely & not “chemically”
