My Stewardess project has some piping holes and the leather is gone, not tucked in anywhere. I know many use puff paint, but I am not sure of the process. Is it just puffy paint like for clothing? And then you put a thin coat on the hole and that is it? Of course picking a color to match a “ta-black” bag will be difficult. I think I may just try black since all but the flap is fairly dark.

Yes, it is puffy paint for clothing. You try to get it on thick enough and smooth enough that it looks just like the missing leather.

@katev I had to pass on the red made in NYC bag because the back has like a glossy shine in one corner as if someone tried to paint it with a non-leather paint  I feel like Id be better off saving my money for a bag with less wear to come around lol. The red one just seems like it would be a hassle. Anyways, thanks again for your replies today!

So I've just tried brasso on the underside of the turnlock on my Willis and it's now gone two tone, have I done something wrong already???? Before and after pics.

You have to really buff with a cloth and polish it. Ive even had to re apply the brasso a few times to even it out. The two tone-ness is the top thin coat of the brass coming off, thats why it looks like that. Id say put another layer of brasso on and wait a few mins before using a q-tip to buff. If you’re happy with the result, continue to the rest of the hardware but if you can’t even it out, then it may be just the hardware on the bag. My scooter was very uneven after trying to remove hardware scratches so I took the rough side of a sponge (the green side) and scraped the entire top later off, followed by buffing it with a silver cloth for 5 minutes. Ill include a picture of what it looks like now. Im not sure why some of the bags are like this but my scooter was the only one that didn’t respond to brasso well  and please ignore dirt and grime around the turnlock- Ive been dragging my feet about removing it and cleaning it properly lol.

Thank you for replying. I had put another layer on and started buffing again and more is coming off but it's taking a lot of elbow grease. I'll keep trying it and see if I can get it any better. Thanks for attaching a pic.
