So I have started feeling like since my rehabbed bags are still just not getting as soft as they were before dunking, maybe what they are missing is some kind of oil application. What is the general consensus here about applying any oil at any stage in a rehab? It just seems like once the CPR dries, the leather is still stiff and rough. Maybe my house is just super duper dry (it is, I know because I bought a digital humidity gauge and it reads about 30%) and I need a lot more coats of CPR than one would think normally necessary. Or maybe I need a product with an oil in it? Just wondering what everyone thinks.
My house is just as dry (of cause forced air heating). Most bags I restored the softness usually improved. I use a microfiber cloth, and lots of leather cpr, work on one side of bag till it is done then move to other side's. Using the cloth to massage cpr into the leather, till leather surface start to dry and have a nice sheen. Usually about 5 minutes per side. Most time leather became very soft after 3 or 4 applications (one application per day)

OK I will keep this in mind for next time. It is quite possible I am not getting the CPR down into the leather. I generally use my fingers to slather it over the surface and smooth it over until it appears to be be all soaked in, but I am not really massaging it in at all.

For leather bags that have inside pockets, do you try to condition those as well? Or just the outer part of the bag? I feel like the pockets could use it, but it's not easy to get in there and I wasn't sure about how it would dry.

I condition all of the finished (smooth) leather surfaces including inside pockets.

This gal arrived yesterday. My goal is to clean her up and then get her customized once self isolation is over. Although 30% off new coach and 10% back is seeeeeriosly tempting.
I'm going to stay the course though. Rehabbing will give me something to do!
That's my thoughts too! I found some new rehab projects specifically because I wanted another activity, haha.

Both...Im enjoying doing them and using them
I gotcha. Same here! Though I'm not collecting any items in particular yet. Mostly just what I find in thrift stores. I'm having a good time learning how to rehab.

I'm not really a bucket bag user though, so I'm going to try to sell this one. Mostly I grabbed it because I thought it had such good potential
