Hope everyone had a good Christmas and was on Santa's "Nice" list.
A vintage courier bag was on my wishing list for rehab but haven't got it yet. They are scarce and crazy expensive on eBay. What is considered to be a reasonable good price for a rehabable vintage courier? Roughly which year frame were couriers produced? Thank you.

I just saw a black one for $200 and that seems to be the cheapest I've seen in quite some time. If you are interested I can send you the link, it looks to be in pretty good condition. But I haven't had it authenticated.

So this wasn't much of a rehab, but I had to share. I have become a HUGE fan of the Ergo XL totes. I have one in smooth leather in Chalk, a pebbled leather one in Black, and then I stumbled upon this one in natural vachetta by complete accident for a ridiculous price on Ebay. It isn't as light as some prefer, but I just love that suntanned patina look. Whomever owned this before me took great care of it, just had it in the sun . There was no damage, no nasty black handles, I am smitten! It was in need of some moisturizer so this is after two coats of Leather CPR and a buffing with a horsehair brush. I have the hangtag and the dust bag, just didn't post for the photo.20191226_104142.jpg

There's one on eBay that's currently bidding at $47 but you should expect it to get very expensive. I'll PM you the link. I have one that has a metal tag, so it's likely from the late 60's to early 70's (I believe, but I could be wrong - I got schooled by RL Bernstein a while ago and I need to go find that post. I'll post the link when I find it).

I paid $200 for my red Courier in excellent condition and I feel it was worth it. Only you can really decide what is a comfortable price to pay, really. If you buy one with nice leather and no stains you're likely already getting your money's worth and if you rehab it and don't like it you are even more likely to be able to get your money back plus a little extra if you decide to sell it. Check Etsy, too. I find them to sometimes go on sale there and you dont have to deal with the irritation of bidding.

Thank you very much. I think with shipping to Canada and import fees, that most likely will go over 250. Probably well worth it. Just I was late to vintage Coach bags and was playing catch up for the last couple of months, bought about 20 or so bags since November, both my DH and DD thought I went insane. lol..now I must be a little more cost conscience. Hope someday will find a poor listed courier and steal it. Thanks again.

Thank you. Is it this one? She is on my watch list. Keep fingers crossed, shipping to Canada is 40.80.

My tabac courier which had a lot of scratches, but nothing else wrong (a dunk fixed it) was around $180 shipped. I won it on ebay and would not have gone higher because I wasn’t sure if I would like the style. My small navy courier was a lucky Etsy find both in terms of size and price. Shipped and with tax :( it was $106. Other than a good vacuum for debris, it needed nothing else, although I did give it a coat of CPR to perk it up (it was shipped flat).

What I am willing to pay varies based on how much I want something and how often I see it come up for sale.
