I honestly don't think you have to worry about that bag disintegrating. It looks like it is in good shape. I wouldn't be afraid of dunking it. The bags that disintegrate are in really bad shape.

If you don't want to dunk, you can heat towels in the dryer and lightly stuff to reshape, then hang in in your bathroom for a few weeks. The moisture from your shower will help it reshape.

For the cut on the strap, I attempted to repair a similar cut by applying layers of leather cement. I then used a mixture of paint and Lexol to try to blend it in. It wasn't perfect (and was a pain to try to do), but it helped.

So jealous! I would dunk.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be dunking it this weekend!

She arrived yesterday. I still think she’s too good to be true, but she’s a pristine red Patricia that was purchased and thrown in a closet for 20 years. The hardware has no wear, I’m almost afraid to give her a much needed bath. I initially got her to use while I repaired and bathed my everyday black Patricia. I had no idea she would arrive in such condition. Now I need another everyday bag while both Patricia’s are in dispose and more cpr! Haha

So pretty! I like that it’s getting a second life, or I guess kind of it’s first life since it sat in a closet. You gotta make up for lost time and show her the world! Haha

So no one has any ideas? I'd hate to think this post was ignored...

I have used 100% acetone to remove pen from satin interior lining. I’m pretty sure people use it to remove pen marks off leather with a q tip. I’ve never tried it but if used sparingly I don’t think it hurts leather. But I think it should be done immediately before a dunking. Hopefully someone can confirm.

So I am possibly getting this bag: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/283549533287

There are "light" pen marks on the inner flap. What is the best strategy as far as removing old pen lines? I know it's really hard to do, but I still would like to know what's worked best for you guys? TIA!
I use a suede eraser. The kiwi company makes one that I like. They are inexpensive and work very well. Just be careful of lifting darker colors.

Thanks. I was thinking of trying that or rubbing alcohol if no one replied here.

Wow, wow, wow!!! Congratulations that is a gorgeous bag.
What is it about a red purse that sets most womans heart to sing?
Do yourself and the Patricia a favor and use her, she has langquished in the dark to long.
