Thank you Belicous. The stains are kind of dark....a couple shades darker than the bag.... but it might darken the stains too .... .... where do you find Obenauf's and which one is it that you recommend i know there are two? It is one of those rehabs that I have left sitting since I couldn't budge the stain...
I got both my Obenauf's bottle of oil and jar of LP from Amazon (both were available with prime shipping too). I use the oil as a conditioning step after the bag has been bathed, and the LP as a finishing step along with Blackrock.

I know this is a Rehab thread and I've loved this group for quite a many years but ......Do any of you ever like some of the bags better is their rustic vintage sort of shabby unrehabbed state. I just washed a conditioned a beautiful mahogany 1997 willis. It looks gorgeous and 100% better than before. I also have a BT station bag that could def use a pick me up but for some reason I feel like I wanna just leave it as is....like her wear and tear shows that she's in it for the long haul. Maybe i'm crazy. I tend to like the distressed look on BT bags more than any other color.

I think the distressed look is beautiful on a british tan bag, especially with some patina too. IMO it depends on the color of the bag. A lighter bag, maybe yellow or bone colored, would look dingy to me. But a BT, green, or navy blue colored bag would look good distressed.

Sometimes. Once I found a nonvintage but older bag in a faded blue. It looked like faded denim. I loved it like that. It suited the bag. Most of the time, the bags aren't just faded and shabby looking - they have stains that spoil the look. I think all browns are best suited to leaving in the unrehabbed state.

I don’t think you’re crazy, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. And I love all kinds of BT, so you don’t need to ‘splain to me. I bought a distressed, scratched stained BT or Tabac ( I go back and forth) City Bag just to condition and preserve however it came out. I did give it a full out rehab conditioning. I liked the distressed, conditioned look, if that makes sense. It doesn’t hurt that it was made in NYC , for $28 .
Use. Enjoy. Repeat!
Side note, out shoe shopping on Sunday. I saw a woman with a medium vintage Legacy Hobo in Camel/nickel. Just hanging on her shoulder, I would bet smooshy Costa Rican. I have had my hands on many of this style in black at thrift and consignments shops, all CR. But that bag was thirsty looking, let me tell you!

Hoping someone here bought the camel?? Courier off Etsy. Have been eying it for days and not buying because I just got a courier and don’t know how it will carry, but we all know how that self argument goes . Would love to see how it cleans up

Before my courier arrived, based on her listing pics, I debated on washing or not, conditioning or not because I liked her look. Of course she arrived filthy and not the color pictured so I washed. For me it varies bag by bag

I had my eye on that one too! However, I had a courier before and I wasn't crazy about it so I sold it, so I couldn't justify getting another one, but I just love the way they look.:girlsigh:
