My Crosby bag arrived today after spending 11 days in transit (thanks USPS!), and I can't wait to get started on her. She looks a bit saggy and faded and smells kinda musty right now, but I don't think there's any issues that a good bath and lots of conditioning won't take care of. Someone just came to the door to let us know that there's a water leak down the street and they're turning off the water until possibly midnight, so her bath will have to wait until at least tomorrow.
My order of Obenauf's Leather Oil and Heavy Duty LP also arrived today, along with a horsehair brush, after a much shorter trip thanks to
Amazon Prime lol. I'm definitely among the group of people that thinks Obenauf's smells amazing. I'm really into perfumes and perfume oils, and some of my favorites contain honey and/or beeswax as their main notes, so its scent is right up my alley. I have a mahogany Court bag that I've been working on that's had a bath, 2 coats of Apple conditioner, and 2 coats of Blackrock so far. I just applied a coat of Obenauf's LP and really like how it's made the leather look and feel so far. I'm looking forward to trying out the Leather Oil also, and plan to use it in place of the Apple conditioner when I start working on the Crosby.
I tried using the horsehair brush to buff the Court before applying the OLP and managed to make a small scratch on the piping in the process, I think from the edge of the wooden handle. So that experiment wasn't quite as successful lol--obviously I need to be more careful with it in the future.
