I don't know for sure. If it's a closed d-ring, it would have to be cut apart and removed (carefully). You can buy "open" d-rings and have a cobbler install them.
Sounds like a good plan.I will have to see what can be done. I found someone selling Willis style screw D rings in various sizes, if I can get mine out I could try them; not authentic, but I can do that on my own. I have a couple tool happy guys who wang to help with removal
This is the bag of my childhood. Haven't seen one in years. Thanks for sharing your find
I'm not sure if they all have a tiny space between the ends (not solid), but the ones I had to replace - from the late 90s vintage bag - looked like that. There're many sellers from China on eBay who sell different colors/sizes/shapes rings fairly cheap, usually the listing specify sizes in mm, so you have to measure yours well. Also, if you have a Coach store on the area, you might get the rings there - I was surprised when I found out they have spare metal parts, not only hangtags... So you might want just to drop by with your bag and see what they have.Do you know if they are solid pieces or “cut” I tried to see but can’t
Turn the ring around so you can see the underneath. Usually there is an opening. You can use pliers to open it enough that you can slide it off. Then get another and slide it on the same way.Do you know if they are solid pieces or “cut” I tried to see but can’t
I replaced a foot once. I couldn't find the exact kind that Coach used. My bag was lined. In the end, it was too hard to push the foot through and flatten the prongs inside since it was lined, so I cut off the prongs and super-glued the foot on. Since your bag is unlined, you should be able to use the kind of prongs. If you can lift up the leather in the bottom, it would be nice to flatten the prongs underneath it. If you can't, there might be too many layers to get enough of the prongs folded over. They sell a variety of feet on etsy, a lot more than you would find in a crafts store.I apologize for this question if it has come up before, but I couldn’t find the correct search terms. I have a MFF Derby Tote that I would like to add feet to. It has an unlined/ suede interior, with an apparently leather reinforced bottom (I don’t know what’s in the bottom layers for sure, but I would not be surprised if it wasn’t 100% leather these days).
Can anyone give advice for adding feet? Thank you!
As you carry the bag, the dark spots will probably fade. Sometimes conditioner brings them out, but after awhile they blend in better.Yeah they do show. It's not as obvious when I'm carrying the bag but it's annoying. This is my first rehab so I wasn't sure what to expect. The bag was much lighter before I dunked it and the inside of the bag stayed light.
Yes, I would. The only stains that seem bad are those spots on the back. I don't think those will come out. The rest looks good. You could smooth out the edges with conditioner mixed with a tiny amount of paint.Good morning! I’m really wanting a Station bag in British Tan but the rehab process scares me a little with these color bags. Would you rehab this bag?

Love the red on that murphy!Today's rehabs. I haven't been buying much lately but I couldn't resist these babies. I hope I can get the color back in the duffle okay. The red Murphy almost doesn't need any work but does need reshaping so I will bath it.View attachment 4395278 View attachment 4395280
I've never seen a crescent bag in white, if I wasn't on a complete bag ban right now, I'd totally be adding that to my collection.

Unless it's a leather dye (which I yet have to use), I only use my bare hands. I only dunk bags wearing rubber gloves because my hand skin is sensitive to too much water and cracks easily. As for the leather moisturizers, if it's good for leather, it's good for skin, too!Out of curiosity, what is your favorite tool for applying conditioner? I know the consistency varies between products. For example, I have Lexol 1 which I think is a cleaner and it is very runny and has to be shaken. The Leather CPR really is like the consistency of hair conditioner (Suave, etc). And the Blackrocks is very thick & waxy. I was just curious is people have a preference for cotton & blends (rags, old t-shirts, old socks, etc), microfiber cloths, paper towels, or even using just your fingers (was watching a YouTube video where someone just used their bare hands). I also have nitrile gloves if I'm worried about irritation on bare hands.
