Today I colored a very faded and stained nubuck Sonoma with Rit dye. Not sure if it will take but when it dries I'll post the results. The object was to cover fading and an oil stain -- so I went darker. The bag originally had been elderberry, but i chose a dye closer to grape. I know that posters to this thread have called nubuck "the devil" so we'll see if it can be tamed. I also find it more challenging than regular leather.

I'm looking forward to seeing the results. Did you dip or paint it on? I used RIT on a suede bag before. That was after I tried Fiebings suede dye. After letting the Fiebings dry, as soon as I brushed the suede, the color disappeared. The RIT worked so much better.

Hi, all! I purchased this pitiful bag for a song and it came in today. I knew it had been abused so expected the worst. After a few coats of conditioner, it looks 100 times better but just curious if you think it can be improved by a good dunking. It still seems very dry around the edges and there’s some minor color loss. For the deal I got, I can deal with minor imperfections though.

Nice to see that the bag was remarkably changed with conditioner! I love my Nomads and only 1 of them has some sign of color loss - I think it is called Black Cherry. I will try Black Rocks on it. I tried other conditioner but can't remember if it made a difference since it has been a while since I've used that bag.

Wow what a difference a few licks of conditioner makes! I wouldn't dunk it unless it's dirty inside. Looks nice now.
It made a huge difference...crazy!

Gorgeous bag and a great find! I would only wash it if it was dirty and I wanted to make sure that it is clean. How does the lining look?

Did you try applying Blackrock's leather n rich? That usually does a great job of hiding imperfections and color loss. You have to apply it very lightly, let it absorb and then buff it. If you still see imperfections and color loss you can lightly apply another coat. If you apply it too heavily it feels tacky and sticky. I use a horsehair shoe brush to buff it.

But I am sure that you know all this already because you are a dedicated rehabber, beautiful color on that bag!

The lining is perfect, no spots at all. I gave it a wipe down just because I’m a germaphobe. [emoji23] I let it rest overnight and did the BlackRock today. It did help camouflage some of the color loss. Funny thing is, despite its scratched up appearance, the leather itself is in perfect shape-no scrapes, cuts...nothing!

I love the Nomads too. [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️ I wanted one soooooo very badly when they first came out but could not afford one. I went into the Coach store and fondled the bejesus out of them, lol! Now I have two, both for less than the price of an outlet wallet! Woooohoooo!

Hey guys, does anyone have a good product for dry edges on a bag, so they don't start to crack.
I've had success dunking bags with that issue. I would give it a full bath with Dawn, soak at least 15 minutes to fully saturate the leather, rinse well and use vinegar in the rinse, stuff lightly with towels and dry. Start applying conditioner (I'd use Leather CPR) while the the edges and corners are still damp. I remove the towels when the bag is a almost dry. Keep applying conditioner over the next 1 -3 days. Let it soak up as much CPR as it will take, then buff. Next I'd use Blackrock Leather n Rich (sparingly). Buff after it dries. Put on a second coat (lightly) if the corners still look needy. You should see a lot of improvement.

Thank you, I ordered the leather cpr today and I will order the Blackrock as well. Thanks again!

I would have dunked it, to possibly have the conditioner sink in deeper, but then again, I feel like I am the crazy-ass, would you rehab this, rehabber here that will dunk first and ask later.
You did not dunk and it looks great. I think you have your answer!

I dunked it for about 45 minutes. It is still drying so I can't tell the color yet. It has been raining here and humid.
