I still think the Pat is mahogany and the Legacy zip is British tan. British tan varied over the years. The version used in 2000 was darker and less orange than previous years.
I have a legacy zip exactly that color/age and it is darker British Tan. I actually prefer it to the more orangy BT. It's a darker whisky-ish BT.

Also have that same Mahog Patricia! You can tell it's mahogany by the inside suede - a nice chocolatey brown. The putty(?) ones are a bit more grey in tone.

When I started to go deep into the vintage end of the pool, I had no idea of the number of styles there made prior to say, the year 2000, in the original weight and light weight unlined leather. I would have guessed no more than 40 or 50. Ha!
It can make your head spin....:eek:I have a question for all you AWSOME coachie rehabers....How and where do you store your bags?

That's interesting about the evolution of the BT color. It's hard to ID colors without seeing them in person, side by side. The suede definitely shows the distinctions better. One of the things I love about vintage Coach is how every bag is unique!

Here's a comparison of British Tans: 1995 Prairie Bag, 1980s Companion Bag, 1997 Bixby Sling:

I am a fledgling rehabber, but my smallish (somewhere under 13 bags) collection is stuffed everywhere. Most are in boxes in my tiny closet; I really need a system. Right now they are in boxes with anti-moisture packs tossed in. I use old cotton pillowcases as dust covers. It is not ideal.

We are at the same point. I’m still learning a lot from everyone on here.

Mine are all over the bedroom in different places, like I've got shelves inside a couple of closets filled with bags, some hanging on the wall, some sitting on a dresser, stuff like that. They're a bit out of control. I need to keep getting rid of some every time I bring them in. Luckily for me my husband thinks they're cool and rarely complains about them. He thinks it's a neat hobby. I do try and make them not too annoying in their presence, but well displayed or discreetly hidden.

My husband likes my hobby too as long I don't spend too much. He enjoys going to thrift stores. It gives us something else to do when we travel.

My rehab bags are almost all gone ( I have a thing now for new Coach bags). OCD and the Goodwill made me a little wild. I learned a great deal about styles of Coaches. I was on ebay for a year and sold about 140 bags ( after their rehab) & gave 50% of my profits to charity. I was great while it lasted and I had the lovely Bixby Sling. I make my own satin dust bags and have 5 coat trees to store my current 60 Coaches and 2 Kate Spades. I also have a 6.5 foot plastic shelf to neatly store them. I am wavering about this new cherry/chalk Taylor tote that UPS just delivered. I am used to sturdy pebbled leather from older Coaches and this is too soft.
