...I can't remember!! Does anyone know what the bag is called in my display pic? I had it authenticated when I first joined, actually it was the reason I joined! They told me what it was but now I can't remember if it was called a convertible clutch or something else?

I believe it is the convertible clutch 9635, DemRam authenticated a dark red one for me recently and posted a catalog pic at the link below. Personally I think it is a great bag but kind of large for a clutch!

I started three new bags today! Two black Italian made Madison Sutton Satchel #4410. I actually accidentally bought both of them (one from Etsy and one from eBay) but its fine, they were both in great condition and I figured they were both classic anyways. Gave them both baths (since katev had good experience with) and hung them up. Once they stop dripping I'm going to take them down and stand them up next to a window.

Very brave and nice bags!

I suggest that you stuff them with towels and set them on a towel to dry, turning occassionally to shape them during the first 24 hours, to make sure they are not misshaped after they dry.

Those look really pretty!!!!

Thank you!! I bought it because I was hoping maybe it was a little larger, I seem to have a whole bunch of Coach bags that are all around the same sizes, and I live a very diverse life, sometimes I need a bag that will just hold more stuff!!

I just got my British Tan Coach Court Bag today, there are new pics on my blog of that, and the completed New York bag that I still have no name for, and the completed white Mini Hobo (I called Coach this morning to see if they could help me, but no luck! I might have to ask Hyacinth, it will be my first time in the authentication thread!)!

The New York bag came out really pretty!!!

Wow, the bags you have rehabbed look incredible! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more!

hmm mine doesn't have the back zipper and I think it is 9 inches, not 11. I really can't remember! I guess I may go into the identify thread and see LOL! I can't find my original post where I asked for it to be authenticated :s

I was surprised others found it hard to work with....it just "felt good" to me right away..not sure why. I initially only applied it to the most banged up bags --after a few coats of Leather CPR. (previously bathed bags). I literally just moisten the tips of my fingers with a small bit of it, and worked it into a section a few square inches at a time, and it just glides on for me. I imagine having it at room temp or even warmer wouldn't hurt. It will need to sit after you apply it for a bit. You might even think your bag feels "sticky"/tacky...but just walk away a few hours (or for me, overnight 'cuz I can't seem to stop playing with it otherwise.) Then, I took a soft piece of cotton cloth and buff it. It was amazing on my old flight bag rehab. You can do more than one coat if you stretch out the applications over time.

Jessi, Do you put on coats of the Leather CPR then use the Blackrocks? I'm asking because I'm doing my first rehab tomorrow and haven't decided which conditioner(s) to use yet.

Thanks.

Nevermind! I found the answer in an earlier post of yours in this thread but couldn't figure out how to delete this post.
I prefer reading these threads from the newest post to older post so didn't see the earlier one from you until I asked the question. :smile1::smile1:

Your NYC bag looks great! You should definitely ask DemRam or Hyacinth to authenticate and tell you what it is, they really know a lot about this stuff!

Oh my, I have bathed my "British Tan" Coach Court bag, and well, it is not British Tan at all, it seems to be drying a very rich chocolate brown! I love that color!!! I certainly hope it stays that way!!

And I am heading to the Authenticate thread now to see if I can figure out how to do it for the NYC bag, the curiosity is killing me!

Yay! We are bag twins! I got this bag for $31 shipped. I see there are a few more listed on both E-Bay and Etsy, the cheapest of which is $81 on Etsy, the most expensive is $249 on E-Bay. These bags really are all over the map in terms of pricing, but I paid what I have within my collecting guideline to pay, I try to stick to my rule.

yours was a good price!!. I got lucky at a thrift shop and found mine for $12 but it needed a good cleaning & sprucing up. I think it's a nice sized bag ...similar in size to my Rambler and Stewardess.

I have only ever found newer really weird Coach bags at my local thrift stores. I keep going to look just hoping I will get lucky, but I never do. I am ok with that though, because with E-Bay and Etsy and Bonanza, I can keep my rehab pile totally full!! I love that the prices vary so widely from day to day and seller to seller, makes it easy to find ones I can afford. Since my husband is the kind of man who will gladly go to Coach and buy me whatever bag I would like (and put us in debt to do it if necessary), he rather enjoys that I am so willing to find the cheap ones and work hard to make them look nice. I just enjoy carrying a bag that did require some work, it wouldn't be as fun if I just went and bought it full price!

An update on my Court bag, that some might find interesting. The bag I am working on is a Made in the United States Court bag and the tag on it says Coach and it has Leatherware underneath it in tiny print. The tag is one sided, not dual sided, so it can't split, and it is very thick. The leather on this bag is amazing! I rehabbed a black court bag a while ago, made in 1996, and it was nothing at all like this bag. This bag has thicker leather, the brass seems heavier, all the strap edges are still perfect, it is amazing the difference!! Has anyone else had this experience? Katev maybe??

I've sent additional photos of this bag to the AT thread; now I'm asking everyone's expert advice on rehabbing this mess! I strongly suspect splattered deep fryer grease.

Back in 2007 I remember trying Saddle Soap, with obviously no success!

I've read about using talcum powder, corn starch or a paste of baking soda and dish washing liquid. Also shampoo or commercial degreasers. And even using a hair dryer to warm it up before trying to remove the stain.

As the stained area on the strap is rather stiff, I also suspect the splatter was HOT!

I will greatly appreciate any suggestions anyone may have for me...THANKS!
