YIKES...my last rehab was in October???!! No wonder I’ve been a little twitchy. But today is spa day for this lovely 1994 Monroe Brief #5276 that Hyacinth authenticated. (Other pics here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-378.html#post23891229) This is one monster of a bag, but in remarkable condition for her age, complete with shoulder strap and hangtag. No major issues, amazingly clean, just needs a little re-shaping and TLC. Oh yeah, and edge coating (Katev:). More than I’ve EVER spent on a Coach bag, I think it’s pretty cool for my $50 investment. Can’t wait to get started. Stay tuned for the reveal in a week or so.

Awesome bag!!! I can relate, as I scaled back on rehabbing in December/January and was missing being coated in conditioner/oil :p

I expirimented with my tan suede Soho... It got attacked by cigarettes at a concert over a year ago and I haven't used it since! Put it through the dryer. .. Good news is that it's clean. .. bad news is that it smells worse!

Did you wash it or just cycle it through the dryer? I have noticed that odors sometimes get stronger after I wash a bag but they often improve as the bag dries.

I put the purse inside a lingerie bag or tie it up in a pillow case before sending it through the washer.

Options that might help your bag include: cycling through the washer, airing it outside, and/or storing it with charcoal pellets to absorb the odor.

I hand washed out then ran it through the drier. .. stinky! I hate cigarette smoke and is pretty bad!

Omg! I'm too impatient to wait 3 months lol! We have an aquarium so I'll try the charcoal. .. But maybe for a day!

I don't think that it really takes 3 months, but it probably takes longer than a day! Somebody (Jessi?) suggested using the charcoal for a time, airing out the bag, and repeat with fresh charcoal pellets; but I haven't tried that.

You said that you haven't been able to use the bag anyway because of the smell, so give it a little time.

I'll give it a whirl! I'll put it in the basement where I'll forget about it! I have that same backpack in black and love it btw... It's my travel go-to!

I sealed my problem bags up and put them out of sight and just left them alone. I am glad you like the backpack it's really nice!

I love this! I've been looking for one of these for my future SIL who is graduating from law school. They have a similar style at the outlet for over $200.

Thanks...When I figure price per sheer volume of beautiful Coach leather, I think I did good! This bag is soooo big, she'll hold BOTH my 15" laptops and lots of other goodies too.

My station bag is now one of my favorites and I never carried it before I revived her! Thanks for all of the above! This is hard work but the results are amazing!

Debating on what to do about my bag.
She's a camel (vachetta leather) legacy Leigh with the striped lining.
I've used Apple conditioner on her successfully - she cleans up pretty nicely.
BUT, she dirties quickly, even with proper care.
I think she may need a bath!

I've searched "Leigh" and saw the yellow one get bathed....need to do more research and/or just bite the bullet and give her the spa treatment!
