I got the brown one but I don't know if it is ever going to get here. The seller bought postage right after the sale but the post office still isn't showing it as mailed. It has been almost a week!

I didn't want to spend very much because I don't know how much I'm going to like it and I am worried about whether it can be fixed up. I don't think I can wash it since it is brown and might stain the lining. I would love to find the elusive blue one. There is one on ebay now but they want a bunch for it. It seems like the pink is the most common.

I saw that Brown one, I hit the back button quick so I wouldn't be tempted! :p

I'm beginning to think the coach linings are treated so they resist the leather dyes pretty well. I'd be tempted to try washing it if it needs it.

Tassels I have. :) I'm thinking yellow with this. It didn't come with a long strap, unfortunately, and before I got all crazy with the color I thought I'd use the long strap from my Winnie but now I guess I'll have to go without.

Yellow was what I was thinking too for the tassel. You might experiment with using different color straps.

Found this online and wanted to share: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BRASS-D...994?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cca8a9eba

I had a pretty good experience with my first go around with the Leather Filler, however my after pictures somehow got lost. I refilled in the missing leather on a Maggie bucket strap and then went back over the area with Leather Refinish in black. The area was slightly shinier than the surrounding leather, and in my next go around, I will probably buff each layer of Leather filler with a nail buffer to hopefully prevent this. I will make sure to get my pictures to share next time!

I already forgot where/what/when people are getting leather refiller. Honestly the Chadwick is the only bag I've felt like I needed it for, so I wonder what I've got around the house that would work as a substitute??

I had thought about this also:

but I would really like a good bulk source for those darn clips!

I bought the ones recommended by Katev - much cheaper than those on ebay and they come in brass and silver. http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/dog-leash-clips-for-coach-fobs-794023-2.html#post23610859
Here is a picture comparing them to the Coach clips. The one on the bottom is the Coach clip. You can see they are a little bigger.

These are not quite afters. I wanted to look at the bag outside after two light coats so I could go over any missed spots. I think this is pretty much how it's going to end up though. I touched up a couple of areas after this and I will go over with BlackRocks after I'm sure it's completely dry. I'll report if that makes any difference, but since it's getting dark so early now I am not sure I'll get good final outdoors pictures so I thought I'd post these.

Here it is next to my Navy Bonnie Tote:

Here is some of the damaged piping-if I had filled it would probably look perfect. This is the bottom of the bag and I'd gone over it once but I hadn't put a real good coat on it when I took picture, it looks like new now that I have done a final coat and let it dry on it's side.

One more of just the bag:

I opted not to do anything to the inside, because I don't want to risk anything marking up my accesories and also so that it will be clear that this bag has been altered. I did a final coat yesterday morning and before I left to work today it truly just felt like a new bag. I'll have to test it out a bit to see if any of the color rubs off but I haven't had any trouble with my Musette and I think this will be OK too.

It looks great!! I have to get some of this stuff. I do love that shade of blue.

Yeah, I really think it will wash well if needed. If the vachettas aren't bleeding out, I think the suede is safe!

I found a Court bag at the thrift store today for $12. Unfortunately it was missing the strap. What width and length is the standard issued strap? I still haven't ordered a strap for the classic Willis I got last week because I need to take it out in the sunlight to determine if it is actually black or navy. I'm planning to get them from Silver Coach. I think this Court bag is navy, but unless I take them outside, though, it's really hard to tell.

The strap for my Court bag is almost identical to the one for the Willis except for the clips. The Court has dogleash clips.

I have been thinking about straps too because I just bought a brown willis without a strap.

Both the Court and the classic Willis are still available on the Coach.com website and it says that both bags have 48 inch adjustable straps. The Willis has trigger snap clips and the Court has dogleash clips. Both bags are available with silver or brass hardware.

I've just measured the width of the strap on my navy willis and it is wider than 1/2 inch but narrower than 3/4 inch, I would call it 5/8 inch.

Silver coach will send you small swatches of leather to help you decide if they are a good match for your bag. Contact him and tell him that you are looking for 2 straps and are having a hard time deciding the color. You can also ask him about combining shipping costs if you order them both at the same time.

To tell black from navy it sometimes helps to compare to a bag that you know is black or navy leather and see if it looks different. Although if the leather on your bags is dried out they will appear lighter.

Another trick is to look inside along the seams, sometimes I can see the color better there.

If you are planning to rehab the bags and give them a bath and conditioner, I would do that first; before ordering the replacement straps. The rehab process really brings out the true color - I have been surprised by the final color of a bag a few times!

Good luck!

I called Coach and asked about the Willis strap when I thought it was black, and they didn't have it in black with brass hardware. They suggested I try back in a month. If it turns out to be navy, I don't think they carry it in navy anymore.

I was thinking rehabbing would improve my chances of getting the color right. The Willis looks pretty good, but the Court bag is kind of dry. I have an ancient Basic bag that I bought in 1983 or so. I haven't put any conditioner on it ever, only Coach conditioner years ago (please forgive me, everyone) and it really doesn't look like navy at all - it looks like the black bags I've bought lately such as the City bag did before conditioning.

The really old navy was almost black. Honestly, I don't know why they even made it since it was so similar.
