So in the bath she went. Simply put her out to dry, and used LOTS of Leather CPR. I was relieved the dark nasty spot on the back completely dissolved and whatever was all stuck in the slip pocket also released completely.

Awesome! How gratifying to see a bag realize
Its potential!

OK, I have a kinda cute rehab related story. I dropped off my big ole NYC Bookay Duffle to have the strap re-riveted on about a month ago. When I picked it up last week, The shop owner starts telling me this story about a puppy that wandered into his shop, how he looked all over for the owner, because the puppy was too young to have wandered very far on the busy street the shop is located on. He even showed me a cell phone pic of the cute lil dude. (looked like a VERY young black lab).

So I'm thinking cute story, and I love a good puppy story, but why is he telling me this? Well he was working on my bag when he came in. He was about to call the humane society when an acquaintance of his who owns one of the shops down the way came in, offered to take the puppy in. And guess what they named the puppy? "Coach". LOL.

anyway, hope this story has a happy ending and the guy turns out to be a good home for him.

And, as for the bag, here's a pic. I did dunk it when I got it home to reshape. This thing is the HEAVY leather like my old basic bags. I've had it quite awhile, and had been buckling the strap through with the "tab" to hold it together and it worked pretty well. I put some leather CPR and BlackRocks on her and dressed her up with the FNO tassels. Maybe next time I'll switch the strap out too, but I wanted to try the length with the original strap today. It always SEEMS short.

Not the best picture ever...but the nice brown leather feels soo rich. Inside is a pair of tennies, yoga pants, and the usual stuff I carry every day, wallet, a couple wristlets, and my Kindle.
Great story! The leather looks gorgeous---the tassels look really pretty with it too!

Using my rehabbed stewardess today - really love the capacity but I think some black leather color is rubbing off onto my beige wallet. I will have to keep an eye on that.

Some color did come off during buffing particularly on the inside with Blackrock (non suede surfaces) and I know some of you have said Blackrock can lift a little color. I really hope it doesn't persist.
Beautiful!! The Stewardess is my all time favorite vintage Coach style!

Great story and gorgeous bag!

I've had the EXACT SAME THING happen and unfortunately I didn't own a heat gun....what do they look like btw?? I had to repeatedly use Tide to go pen and followed by wicking back out quickly with a white soft absorbent cloth, over and over again, til the dye didn't stay in the bag anymore.

A heat gun looks kind of like a hair dryer, but smaller. They are found at stores like Home Depot. They are used for stripping paint and/or varnish. HTH
