She's gonna look great! Are your nails polished like butterfly wings? They look cool!

Yeah they're supposed to look like Monarch patterns :) I did them on Monday, they looked perfect up until tonight when I went to pinball club.... Now my flipper fingers are chipping on the tips :D

I'm loving your pictures, and your nails too. I'd be interested in hearing how much you can fit into your bag after you have rehabbed it..... waiting impatiently for the after pics!

I am so excited to find out too--I was so quick to throw her into the water, I totally forgot to put stuff inside her to see what fit! :p

So update... (and I need help/opinions)
I took her outta the bath and got her on the towel/stuffed with towels before I rushed off to pinball club, I snapped this pic but didn't have time to post it... The stain line thingy is still visible, so I guess she needs another bath? In the first bath, I used just dish detergent and a white washcloth, should I use something stronger for her second bath? I have Oxy Clean powder stuff... Would that help or be too harsh? Any opinions are greatly appreciated!

What if put some leather CPR on her and see if the color evens out. Anyone else have any ideas?

If it were my bag I would treat the stains with something like oxy-gel and let it sit for awhile - and then tie it up in a bag and cycle through the washer on delicate with woolite.

That's a great idea, I have yet to tackle bad water stains yet. The few I've had have evened out with Leather Therapy and Blackrocks.

Here is a challenge: I don't have a washing machine, or easy access to one. (I get to do laundry like once a month-thankfully I have enough clothes--But anyways I just did it 2 days ago so I have a loooong wait... )

Oxy Gel is different than the powder stuff?
I will have to try and get to a store to find some tomorrow I guess.

P.S.: Is this the product I need? http://www.oxiclean.com/pre-treatment/Products/oxiclean-max-force-gel-stick.aspx

Yes, that is the product I was thinking of. I have used it to pre-treat stains before I put them through the washer, but I am not certain that it helps.

Well, I guess I would keep vigorously hand-washing it and see how that works. It is a beautiful bag, good luck!

Hi all! I am a relative Coach newbie, I have 5, and I'm ashamed to say I have not been very careful with them and never cleaned or conditioned my older bags.( hangs head in shame) I would love to give them a good cleaning, so I've been lurking- reading up on methods. I have an '04 Willis that shows signs of normal wear, I think I can ( hopefully) handle giving her a bath, reshaping, and conditioning her.
I also have a medium Zoe who needs some TLC. She's what I call " pearlized" leather. I did a search of this thread, and didn't see any methods. Would any one here know if there is a different methods/products to use for cleaning "pearlized" ( not sure what it's really called, sorry ) leather?
Here she is...

Hi Ladies-
I haven't posted in a very long time but you gals have inspired me to rehab a few Coach bags I found on Ebay. Without seeing your before and afters pictures and all the great advice on how to rehab a bag, I would've never taken a chance. When my hubby saw me dunk my first rehab bag, he looked at me like I was nuts

Anyway, I'm hoping your expertise can help me.... it's about a vintage Gucci rehab.I hope no one minds that I'm asking on the Coach forum, but it seems no one rehabs a Gucci bag. I figured since I've rehabbed Coach bags, I'll go for it and the price was right!!
I won it from Ebay, it's a Gucci tan canvas handbag sorta of a LV speedy style, but the canvas is not coated, it's very hard to describe the feel of it. The canvas is very stiff and really dirty and the leather trim and the handle are very dirty also. Not even sure if the handles are venchatta leather. The interior has a suede lining ,it does have some flaking but it's not too bad. The seller did inform me that it was dirty, stiff etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... I really want to dunk her soo bad BUT I'm a bit nervous would love some advice before I do it LOL. Thank you for any advice you can give me.

you may have to be the pioneer that tries a Gucci first! I also have a Gucci that needs work, and I'm fairly experienced with rehabbing Coach, but my Gucci satchel's coated canvas is all "crackley/cracked" at the top like someone stored their loaded bowling bag on top of it, and the inside leather lining is also stretched and could use some refurb but honestly, I'm not willing to try it, and I just am waiting til I can afford to send it to someone with more Gucci repair experience. Gucci's repair service is really expensive, and their Customer service hasn't gotten rave reviews. Yours may survive a dunking if it is structurally sound and I'd love to know if you try it so that I can actually consider it too :D.

I'm going out later and will try to find the gel stuff and do a vigerous hand-wash in the sink after I let it sit on the stains...

I also ordered some Blackrock's, in case this doesn't work 100%... hopefully that would even it all out afterward.

I am not surprised, but I just noticed all our "chatting" was removed from the vintage reference thread. I realize it's against the rules, but I feel like the vintage thread is different than the modern stuff because things are rarer and it isn't a very over crowded thread over all. OH WELL. I guess we can talk to each other about our posts elsewhere.

I hope it cleans up for you!! Without knowing what liquid substance caused the edge mark from the running dye, it's hard to know how to treat it. All you can do is hope the edge line dissipates or diminishes in the wash process. I have a skinny cashin tote I just rehabbed and the "water" mark/line is much diminished and conditioning it helped, but it's still faintly showing. It was a black bag so it wasn't as obvious. And I didn't get aggressive with it since it's not as easily replaced. And if all else fails I could get it re-dyed if it had bothered me too much.

So...here's a before pic of my 1998 Station Bag, along with her current state after dunking in Woolite and three applications of Leather Therapy. I attached the strap from my Pocket Purse for the photo. I'm going to pick up some black acrylic paint tomorrow for the edging and contact Coach for a new hang tag. I'm really happy with the makeover!
