Coach registration

Working at Coach I realized that registering a bag never really did anything. They dont log it, so it was really pointless. We could never look up that information, so thats why I think they got rid of it. They also went to the "Clientrack" system where if you give them your name and address they track your purchases!

I have never recieved one either. I thought it was weird, but, thought that b/c I was buying it from a dept. store (Hechts) that that was the reason why no card came with it. I then bought something from the reg. store not long after my Hechts purchase and no card came with that either.
They discontinued the site to register the coach purses, Coach can tell by the inside label of each bag the year it was made, sold etc.. so this is how they track them for repair if brought into a Coach store.

Hey everyone! I am new to the whole "fake coach" vs. real coach thing and I just got my first Coach purse....is there anyway to tell if it is real or not? I got it at a Coach outlet and they told me that they are all real...it came with the dustbag and serial number and little Coach keychain thing, but now I'm worried that its a fake...and I'd rather pay the extra $60 to get the real thing! Thanks in advance for any help!
The handbags that are sold at the Coach outlets are in fact made by Coach, but they are a designed and made for the outlet stores, so these bags will never be found at a Coach Store or Boutique, nor will you find a handbag carried at the Coach Boutiques at the outlets. Sometimes however you may find a Coach bag which was purchased at a Coach store or even dept. store because it was brought in as a return, but this is very rare.

Discontinued styles from the full-price stores ARE sent to the outlets. That's what Coach does with all the Boutique items that haven't sold and are replaced by new styles.

Where are you getting your information from?

After Coach stopped using individual serial numbers, all "registering" your bag did was add your name to Coach's mailing list (and the lists they sold to other companies). Coach's warranty covers the "lifetime" of the bag which Coach estimates at about 7 years, it doesn't matter if a bag was ever registered or not or how many owners it's had. Registration cards on purses are just like on any other retail merchandise - just a way to pad the company's mail or spam lists.

I know you're new here, but it's a good idea to check the date of a post you're replying to. This one and the one before it go back to 2006.

I bought a Coach Station handbag at a thrift store for $20. I knew what it was immediately! It was in excellent condition except for one of the lobster claws not holding. I took the bag in to my local Coach boutique and they authenticated it on line and sent it off to the factory for repair. Much to my delight when it was returned to me the lobster claw was replaced (both I think) and the brass toggle turn on the front was also replaced. It is a gorgeous bag and I was touched to receive a letter from the craftsman from Coach who worked on the bag. Cost to me - not one dime. I have many other vintage Coach bags and encourage lovers of good design and real leather craftsmanship to look into collecting the older styles.

Hope this adds to the registration question.

Is there a number that I can call so I can send off my coach key holder for repair? The stitches holding the leather on the edge together have broken and came loose.
I also have a Coach wallet suffers that same issue.
Thank you.

7 years - that's ridiculous.

Glad to read they don't abide by that timeline with repairs.

OMGosh I have two 6-year-old bags that look the same as the day they came out! I have great luck with Coach and, thankfully, nothing's needed repair.
