Jane Anne- I got the job!! Yay!! It is just a part time job, as I just graduated with my bachelor's degree and am now completing my paralegal certification, but I thought Coach would be a fun place to work at. LOL I am worried that I am going to spend all of my paycheck there:)

Congrats! I used to work at Coach and yes, I ended up spending my paycheck there! I did win a free bag at Christmas which was cool. :D You had to sell so many bags for the month of December and then you got to pick a free bag. I don't know if they still do that, I worked there quite a while ago.
I know that our store sent our discontinued bags to the Las Vegas outlet. There's always a chance that the bags will get sent out if there are any left by the time they get discontinued. But I think the employees usually snap up the last of the popular bags before they get sent out because we got an even better discount on them when they were being sent out. (Not sure if this is still the case.) :amuse:

How great for you! I hope it is really fun. :D

Hello everyone! This is my first post. Today was my last day at the Coach Fashion Valley location. The straw bags as well as the calfskin daphne bags were all transferred to the outlet earlier this week. As soon is something is off the website (usually w/ the incoming of new items) all the old items go to the outlets with the exception of a few pieces. As mentioned prior signature in the outlets is very rare and usually those pieces are reserved specifically for the new york and las veagas outlet (however, the lilac signature was on the deleted list this time around and I do believe that that bag is being sent to all factory stores. As for the pocket signature satchel it will be awhile before that one disappears. If u ever see a bag disappear online feel free to call any Coach store and ask if it was going to the outlets (we wont lie to you lol). If a Coach bag is not destined for the outlet stores then it gets shipped to Jacksonville, where the distribution center is located, and then are made available for clients who still want the bag to place an order(still full price). Those are typically signature bags, when the stores need room for newer products but they still don’t want to discount a certain bag. Coach changes their products so frequently that it is usually easy to wait for an item to go to the outlet. But also they only make limited quantities so a lot of the time bags that should go to the outlet have already been sold out. As for the new patchwork that is selling out very fast, I don’t think it will make it to an outlet this year but it is possible that it will next summer. For example, in the outlets now they are carrying last years spring patchwork. I bought the “dot” bags this January after being devastated that they were all sold out December 04. Wow that was long, lol, hope this helps!:winkiss:

Meggy-- I just got hired at coach...how is it working for the company? Any advice/warnings? Thanks:)

lol, where do i begin....
at first it does seem in a little daunting they do throw you out on the floor fairly quickly but it doesn’t take too long to feel comfortable talking about the product. if a client asks you a question that you don't know the answer to just ask another associate for help, depending on your coworkers you should get a quick feel for who has the most product knowledge.
pros: awesome discount, pretty easy going atmosphere, and they have tons of incentives where if your store does well you can receive "team share" which is a paid bonus
cons: Units per transaction :UPT, ughghghgh keeping a 1.5 per month, which sometimes isn’t too hard but that was my biggest problem w/ that company, i don't understand how a company can have an associate sell thousands and thousands of dollars a day and regardless of how much they sell throughout the month then will still get a write up for a UPT average below a 1.5. 4 write ups in 6 six months = termination. but don’t be too scared b/c i don’t think anyone ever really gets fired for just UPT, but it still is a little stressful

--so for every coach shopper out there, please buy at least 2 items from your associate, they can be any price it does not matter, even the $8 leather cleaner and moisturizer. And contrary to popular belief…COACH employees do not get paid commission!!

As far as finding that bag (and boy do I know what its like to be on a hunt for a bag:D ), if you have one near you, try Off Fifth-the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet. There is one in my area and typically they only have the obscure colors, but you just never know! Good luck with your hunt!!:smile1:

I went to the coach outlet near my house today and they had a lot of the straw handbags, as well as last years patchwork bags and a lot of cute summer-y totes. :)

Yep the Legacy Straw totes are at the outlet now -- I totally caved and bought one today (white leather trim) along with the matching wristlet (which is what made me think it was "meant to be"). The best part was that it was already on clearance plus an extra 20% off that price.

I think they will make it to the outlets. I wanted to say they did already but I can't remember for sure. The last outlet I was at was the AC one and thought I saw them but I can be wrong. You can always call the outlets in your area and ask if they have that bag.

There were several signature bags at the Jeffersonville outlets in Jeffersonville, OH. I passed through there a few weeks ago and stopped in the Coach outlet to look. I don't know if this particular one was there though.

Wow -- thanks for that info. I'll be sure keep that in mind and pick up some little trinket or leather care item from now on -- when I get good service, anyway. ;) Really, I've only ever had one not great experience at Coach, and that was just because one SA was being a little :censor: to me, probably because I wasn't carrying Coach when I came in (I was wearing my Novak ). I think maybe she was new at the store, I'd never seen her before. Generally I always get such great service, even if I'm only browsing.
