Coach changing itself is what has gotten this Louis Vuitton addict to look at them as a brand again. I got so tired of seeing so many cheap looking signature bags...only to be told they were not fakes, but real, and sold at the outlet! And then there was the frustration of saving for a bag, buying it, and then seeing it at the outlet a week later!

I saw the lock and key pendant necklace somewhere and ended up buying it from Macy's. Its soo cute and classy compared to all the other versions out there that I've seen that seem so trendy. I also splurged on the charm bracelet that goes with it. Then I saw the ad in Elle with the Swagger bag and went "wow." Reminds me of why I went to Coach back in the day when I was in my early twenties. They seemed classy and timeless. Then they went through the Poppy phase, and I bought several bags that fell apart in mere months.

I live in OC, California and locally the South Coast Plaza Coach store is a ghost town but the one in Brea and the one in Orange seem busy whenever I am there. I'm doubtful they will close the South Coast store; that is a mall to be seen in for luxury retailers. I tried to buy the charm bracelet in person, but the Coach stores near me were sold out of it - in one day they sold them all! So someone is buying!

Locally, some Nordstrom stores carry Coach and some don't...the Nordstrom in Brea does not stock Coach anymore. But the one in Fashion Island does, as does South Coast and Orange. Macy's always stocks Coach as well, and the Brea store has remodeled the Coach section to make it look more upscale.

As for Michael Kors...I wonder if they are going to go down the hole Coach is trying to dig out of. Locally Nordstrom and Macy's are awash in Michael Kors. Last night at the Brea Nordstrom and at Macy's, the clearance bins were overflowing with Michael Kors. And I recently scored a pair of Michael Kors gold flats on sale. When I looked at Macy's Michael Kors offerings, most of it was on sale. Being chronically on clearance is never a good sign. The Brea Nordstrom seems to be focusing more on Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and Ted Baker and phasing out the Michael Kors offerings. They only stocked the handbags and watches in store; there were cosmetics cases and whatnot...in the clearance pile.

Is this the bracelet you got? http://www.coach.com/lock-and-key-charm-bracelet/90489.html?dwvar_color=MTI
I have that one. It is beautiful. I have a lot of Coach jewelry I've bought in the last couple years.

funny they are trying to dig themselves out, yet they are opening a new outlet store nearby.

I think they have to keep the outlets because they account for 70% of the company's overall revenue. Their stock wouldn't be able to handle the hit if they closed the outlets--they need that money to help fund some of this rebranding.

The Austin Barton Creek location is closed right now but I think it is because they are remodeling it. It is right across from MK.

The outlet close by continues to get FP merchandise, including a bit of Vevers stuff.
