COACH Hall of Shame - Post Coach fakes here!

So... I now have 2 fake bags. One because I found out too late (my hall of shame moment) and one because the seller did not want it back. What to do with them? Throwing them in the bin does not feel right. The bags are well made, I am sure they can be loved and worn for much longer. Just not as a Coach. This gives them a wrong start.

The idea I am having now is to take them to a local shoe repair shop and ask them if it is possible to scratch/burn out the creed and number at a low cost. If this works they might turn into what they are: nice bags, but not Coach. I could then bring them to a charity second hand store. Would this work?
I welcome your thoughts and other good ideas.

Fake Daypack for sale on Poshmark by momofboyscloset. She has other Coach bags for sale, but they’re more modern, so I couldn’t guess about authenticity.

Reported multiple times, but—shocker—it’s still there.
If you post here and want the listing reported, in addition to the seller's ID, you need to post a link to the listing.

But even if we report, Poshmark is unlikely to remove the listing. From what I've seen of Poshmark and its sellers, PM prefers money over abiding by the law and over protecting its members. And many members go to PM with their fakes knowing that the listings won't be removed.

It's rare but some honest sellers will end their listings if they were unaware but subsequently notified that their item is a fake.

I'm assuming that the one seller who didn't want the fake back gave you a refund and (smartly) didn't want to pay to have a fake returned. If you didn't get a refund, DO SO!!

As for what to do with the fakes, I certainly don't recommend putting money into have the "un-Coached."

Since they're essentially worth nothing as they stand, my recommendation would be to take a scissors and cut the full creed and the serial number. You can either leave a pocket with a hole or if it's a flap pocket, just cut out the whole pocket. If the bags have hardware that's stamped with "Coach" markings, that would be a problem since removing hardware would make the bag fairly useless. But if there's no Coach hardware, you could donate the generic bags that will no longer have any brand markings.

Remove and dispose of fake hangtags if the bags have them.

I did link, but I used “Poshmark” as the text that could be clicked on in an effort to keep it neat. I will just use the full link text as the display text going forward. I didn’t realize that was the preference—sorry about that.

Thanks. The Vinted seller indeed smartly wanted to avoid the shippings costs. At Vinted they know they have a buyer-protection programme, so they can kind of getting away with it. Reporting them is the only way to get to them, so this is definitely a Vinted weakspot.
The other bag was a while ago, so too late for me, I found out way after the purchase. And Vinted does not engage and act upon transactions that have been completed. So there reporting is the only option you still have. At least as I have now experienced so far. So I have become much more careful now.

Will take your suggestions at hand for the 2 fakes. Cheers and have a afternoon/good evening!

I also reported both of these eBay listings from sarafrit_4 today and just heard back from eBay that they don’t violate policy, and they won’t remove them. One has bids. 🙃 Anyone else want to report this fake Small Hippie Flap & fake Companion Flap?
Both of those bags on ebay are gone. Thank you ! I asked for authentication because I know that Coach made mistakes, so I'm never quite sure about reporting. Was also set back on my heels when I saw that both those bags were apparently counterfeit.

Oh, good! I was very irritated when eBay said they were fine. Glad they’re gone now.

I don't know how responsive Vestiaire Collective is when it comes to reports of fakes but we'll see if anything happens to these listings.
