COACH Hall of Shame - Post Coach fakes here!

comesaleaway ripped off other buyers with these fakes.
So going through old posts because y’all have more knowledge than a 5 yr old at show-n-tell. How do you know these are fake? What details are suspect or red flags?

I've heard of (from here), but not seen, this type of fake (assuming I'm right):

Where they try to fake the individual stamping of serial numbers, when there is a clearly visible border outlining the whole serial number.
You are correct.

Good luck trying to get Goodwill to believe you and end the listing!

ETA: I guess they know it's fake based on the implied authenticity disclaimer:
"***Items that have been authenticated, will have the COA included in the pictures in the auction, and the auction will say "Authentic"***
**Please note that the COA shown in auctions, for items that are authentic, will not be included with shipping. Winning customer is free to print out the certificate shown in the auction, or save it from the auction, if need be.**"

I know right!! I reported a fake Coach backpack last week (Made in Korea w/a 101 serial #), and they wrote back:

"I sent your comments to the winner of this auction and asked her if she prefers to cancel the transaction."

Except the auction had not closed. 3 Days passed and it racked up 17 Bids, and was over $100. So I wrote back

"This auction is not closed, it is still open and accepting new bidders. Also, it's illegal to sell counterfeit goods."

They finally ended the listing after that.

Please tell me that not all Poshmark sellers are cheats? Am I wrong that 9946 is not a tote but a drawstring bag?

I can't comment unless you can copy and post the seller's photo of the creed stamp and serial number. My computer won't display it.

If you're not absolutely sure something's fake, you really should post it in the Authenticate thread first. This one is for confirmed fakes only.

And no, not all Posh sellers are cheats. But Posh makes it a helluva lot easier for the ones that are. That's why we don't recommend it, and why so many fakes sellers have found a home there.

Creed reads l4k-9946. Isn’t a 9946 bag a drawstring? A search on this forum also pulled up multiple uses of this number on different style bags. I would have definitely posted it on the authentic thread first otherwise. I am still shocked at the vast number of fakes for the older bags being sold.

It's fake. As you said, wrong style number, and K was never used as a plant code for any US plant that made handbags.
