The tan "Willis" was definitely posted here before, I remember those photos and all the problem areas VERY well. About 7 to 10 days ago, I think. I didn't save photos before but I did this time.

Not only are the serial number details different from the other G0D- prefixes in my files, but the small details of this one's serial prefix are absolutely identical to a fake I saved a while ago, and the saved fake also has another red flag which I'd bet you dollars to donuts this one has too but the seller didn't show it.

As my own personal opinion, I'm advising everyone to avoid buying from this seller
" Harrypotomus " and ALL of her multiple IDs!
How many have you found so far?

Her fake "Willis" serial:

proven fake, identical serial prefix, especially the serifs on the "N":
2000_D-plant_FAKE-G0D-9988-creed-a-.jpg

Hard to see in this small photo but there are definitely indents:

and one of 3 genuine -G0D- serials in my files

Can you tell me about the hyphen before G0D? Is there any rhyme or reason for that?

None whatsoever. Just something that someone at a Coach plant did. Maybe the stamping mechanism got stuck. Judging by the font, it could be the same stamping mechanism the D plant had been using since 1994 and was already apparently on its last legs and being replaced by a new stamp "on the fly" while this was happening, there were at least 2 different serial stamps in use in the D plant during this time.

You have to understand, Coach never explains things like that. "S**t happens", and no one ever says why or even acknowledges the changes. So asking US why something happened is like asking the Man in the Moon, because we here at tPF have no bleedin' idea. We just have to spend hours, days and weeks trying to figure out which ones are valid and which ones aren't.

Haha. Thanks! I like asking you all strange questions - I never know what kind of insight I’ll get

I have learned though not to try to logicize these quirks. That would drive me batty.

Same seller is on both Poshmark and Etsy:

Poshmark seller: celinecherie
Etsy seller: VintageSimplicite

Previous discussion of the seller's item from the "authenticate this Coach" thread:
Good Evening, this bubblegum bag is cute (liked, saved, bundled) on Poshmark while it's also available on Etsy (and in my cart) however I find serious issue with the creed and the "solid brass" stamp on the hardware. I have not seen that on any bags younger than I am (aka old). Is this a Limited Edition or specialty item made to replicate the original 60-70's NYC bags? I have attached both listings, it is the same bag and same seller just under two different selling names.

Item: RARE Vintage Coach Turnlock Backpack in Lavender # D6P-9960

Etsy Listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/899924...lock-backpack-in?ref=shop_home_active_1&cns=1
Seller VintageSimplicite

Poshmark Listing: https://poshmark.com/listing/RARE-V...Backpack-in-Lavender-5fa629e4c936af58c5e91e66
Seller celinecherie
You are right to be suspicious. It's fake.
LOL! Interesting discussion on celinecherie's Poshmark listing!
I saw that.
Wouldn't you think the expert would enlighten the seller? Or maybe he doesn't really know and can't give accurate information.

ETA: And she removed it from Poshmark because she doesn't want people to know that authenticity was questioned.

But Celina from VintageSimplicite (on Etsy) still has it up and running.

Someone is going to get scammed for $250.

ETA again: It's back:
Poshmark listing was ended again (third time!) but knowing it's fake, celinecherie relisted again.

(And as VintageSimplicite, she also still has it listed on Etsy.)
