Ok sorry I thought it was a forum to ask questions about authentication I’m not an expert. Thanks

These two bags were sold to me on the GW site by the GW industries of the valley's. I returned them no problem but I have noticed that whenever I have returned fakes to any GW store they always get relisted the same way. These haven't been yet, but they will.
I should have looked closer and probably on my laptop.

Were both bags included in one listing as a "lot?" Or were they separate listings?

I ask because the first one, style 9181 (made in Turkey) is authentic. The other bag (with the J8Y prefix) is fake.

They were. The one from Turkey looked real to me as well but once I got my hands on it I realized it wasn't. The front flap closes at around 2" off of the real ones, the leather was just not good at all. The color wasn't from a naturally tanned process and the stitching n the straps, sides and edging was dismal. Lots of puckering on the trim as well. They also looked as if they both came from the same place as the leather and stitching issues were the same on both bags.

You're wrong about the bag from Turkey. That's absolutely authentic.

Here's another bag of the same style, made a month later than yours in the same year and same Turkish factory. BOTH are authentic.

Please confirm:

I'm familiar with the style of bag and have been looking for one, that's why I bought it. I should have taken pictures of it so you could see for yourself. The last post I was referring to the larger bag, but this style of bag had major issues with how it closed and the handle didn't even come close to the handle of the bag you show in your post. The edge margins were off by quite a bit, the stitching on the side was much farther to the middle of the strap and came together crooked in a u shape near the bottom. Also I cannot stress enough the leather issue. I have rehabbed all sorts of coaches and that leather was not up to standard at all. They both had no hang tags and they both had major issues when closed that did not match other bags of the same style. Plus they were made in the same place from what it looked like to me. I went over them with my jeweler glasses on. They were also suspiciously in brand new condition...no signs of wear at all.
Maybe the were tossed due to quality control but that wouldn't explain how identical the leather and stitching issues were when they were supposedly made at different times and different plants.

I agree with BeenBurned. There's nothing wrong with the Turkey creed and serial number stampings so if there are problems with the bag itself it's because a poorly constructed and sewn item was released for sale when it shouldn't have been.

We're not in any position here to judge leather quality. And yes, you probably should have looked closer. I wouldn't ever consider buying OR authenticating a Coach item using a cell phone. Return it and go over photos of something you're thinking of buying with a magnifying glass and with a real computer if necessary from now on.

And J8Y- serials are always fake.

And now the Seller is flooding Ebay's Fashion forum with authentication requests (seven so far in the last 2 days), most of which anyone who claims to be a "professional authenticator", as he does constantly, should be able to figure out on his own. And then when anyone replies, he reports them to Ebay for rules violations and their replies are removed. It appears to be a deliberate attempt at some sort of revenge or vendetta, although the reason for it escapes me. Even a highly respected poster who doesn't normally even get involved with Coach authentications and has no connection to tPF as far as I know has been targeted. It's like watching a train wreck.

Is there a psychiatrist in the house?????

(Needless to say, this seller is Not Recommended under any of his IDs, which can be found by a Search of tPF's forums using the IDs in the original post or the quote.)

ETA - Just to add - we recommend in cases like this when sellers are unable to accurately authenticate their own items, that they use a paid authentication service qualified to analyze the brand(s) in question. Self-authentications are not considered "qualified" by Ebay.
