Comment: The M in the serial number looks like an upside-down W. The creed wording describes a fabric bag.

Please wait for other opinions on this but I think that bag might have been authentic.

I didn't see the listing before it was removed but I have several *9X creeds in my files with the same "custom developed material" descriptions for leather bags. (Several of my images are from stewardess bags.) The bags were considered to be authentic but with legitimate Coach mistakes.

I don't have a record with the odd M/W month code but the rest of the creed looks right.

I'm sorry, I should have posted on the AT thread first.

I also have the one in the bottom row of photos on the right side. It has the outlet bullet to at least one or two Final Sale stamps.

I also have this A9X-9525 one in an apparently genuine Stewardess with an outlet bullet that isn't in your posted examples.

The only other examples I have of "X" plant codes are 2 from 1998, a Neo that seems OK except for the creed wording:
1998_X-plant_DR with wrong creed_E8X- serial-b.JPG 1998_X-plant_DR with wrong creed_E8X- serial-c.JPG 1998_X-plant_DR with wrong creed-a.JPG

and this one which is definitely fake:

So while the 1999 X code bags may be genuine, there were just so many mistakes in the creeds and numbers, for whatever reason, that they should probably never have been released for sale, or the sellers should never have listed them. But as I've said before, Coach never imagined that anyone would be dissecting these creeds and serials 20 years later. Obviously a few of them were put on Final Sale or sent to outlets, but Coach's short cuts and chronic cheapness and laziness in not using the correct information or even the correct style numbers in the stampings is just inexcusable, and at least one seller is now paying the price of Coach's lack of common sense.

I don't really blame any members here for reporting them since they probably wouldn't have been aware of the original discussions on that blasted X plant code. When you get a serial with an apparently invalid plant code and what might have been an incorrect style number, the natural reaction is to report it. The fact that Coach's lazines and the total shyte-show that must have been going on during this huge transition period to China and with plants closing right and left, apparently no one knew or cared where those temporary creed and serial stamps were coming from as long as a few more bags got onto their store shelves.
