Coach fur repair/replacement

I have a Coach ski flap bag that has black rabbit fur around the flap. It's worn down from use and I'd like to get it replaced or repaired. I called my neighborhood coach store and they said they only replace hardware, but doesn't do anything else, including issue with the fur. The Coach rep suggested I go to a trusted handbag repair place or something to get that done.

I live in Los Angeles; anyone know of a place where you take your coach to get fixed?

And do you think I should get a black rabbit fur pelt as a replacement in case I find a place to get this done? Reason being I doubt places would have rabbit fur lying around.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know what to suggest except for that you can buy rabbit fur pelts in the color of your choice on ebay to bring in with you.

Check fabric stores. Often time they sell rabbit fur pelts.

Another source would be a thrift store - finding another piece of clothing with some fur trim that could be removed. Might even find a mink collar - I see them there all the time.

ummm...the thinking behind the "SAY NO TO FUR" campaign wouldn't approve of leather either (ie leather or leather trimmed purses , leather shoes etc)
