I thought it was just me. $90 for a fob seems a tad outlandish. For that amount, you could get a wristlet, or a pair of shoes or even a bag on sale. I've seen many cute ones over the years, but the price kills all warm fuzzies. I just got my first one last week for $13 and still have that "maybe I overpaid" feeling.

Not just you. I think they're taking advantage of the popularity of fobs, not that the price reflects the actual cost/markup for profit. Most of them aren't as cute as the older ones either, IMHO. I wouldn't mind having a feather fob but not for $95. That said, I've found the FOS and outlets have nice fobs for around $20, which is much more palatable.

I've purchased 4 fobs at FP, both of the Pegasus fobs and both of the Snoopy fobs. Had to have them, and wasn't willing to risk them selling out. I was lucky to get my JRTs on ebay for less than retail. Everything else has been from the outlet.

I do regret being too cheap to get the Snoopy fobs; I saw one for $350 and kick myself for not getting them from jump. I really need a feather for my Stewie, but for $95 I'm trying to see what I can DIY...:D

I'm going through all my Coach stuff for an inventory and though I've been organized about keeping tags and receipts, I cannot find the receipts for 2 of the key fobs, though I do have the envelope AND the tag from the ponytail scarf purchased at the same time. Go figure.

Does anyone know when 92558 Op Art Leather Cupcake and 92447 Leather Bunny w/Mink Tail came out and what their original prices were? I could guess and say $38.00 like others I have, but I don't know. I've perused eBay but that's only good for a current value since nobody has dates in their listings.

I can remember buying both at outlet in the early months of a year when we had an insane amount of snow in our county because I called to do a charge hold for the cupcake fob explaining about the weather and how I didn't know when I'd be down, and the SA said she'd seen the mess on the news.

It looks like the Bunny is from around February 2009, I don't have a date for the Op Art Cupcake but it might have been later the same year.

Thank you!! The links helped because I had searched and didn't find anything, so I was puzzling over how you found the old posts - and I *finally* figured out the "and OLDER" pulldown in the advanced search. I thought it was limited to a year of posts because I saw the "and newer" default. I not only found my posts from when I got them, but I had even mentioned the horrid weather that delayed my outlet trip.

I still haven't solved the mystery of why I have receipts for the other items I purchased in the same trip but not these despite having the envelope. *sigh* Oh well, at least I've got the info - that's the important thing.

Oh, and I saw a price tag in a photo you linked to, so my $38 was right. Thanks again!

You're welcome. :smile1:

I only have one Coach fob, bought new. I like a simple bag, maybe a simple tassel too. But, can I ask for future buys?
Do all fobs have Coach stamped on the back of the items on the fob ( charms, etc., even leather charms?)
Must have a small metal Coach attached tag?
Some have clips, some don't, or just some clips missing from used ones?
Do all the round top flat ring have Coach stamped on them?

Please have any keychains authenticated on the AT Coach thread:

Keychains are highly faked, some well faked and as with most Coach, there are no "always/never" rules. Every item must be evaluated on its own merits.

No to everything. Some are just clips, some are keychains, some have both, some have user-added clips. Some users remove the original ring and replace it with a chain, clip, or different ring. Even if you find one that is authentic, it could be missing charms, missing the hangtag or have the wrong hangtag. The most recent keyrings have Coach stamped on them but this wasn't the case in the past.

Thanks, whatever, I have wondered about all of the above!
You're welcome! I forgot to mention that usually if it says Coach on the front of a charm, it won't have the lozenge imprint on the back. If the charm is a jewel or is 3D so there isn't room for a logo, it won't have one either. Most recent fob hangtags will have "made in.." on the back, but some older hangtags don't have this, and some older fobs weren't sold with hangtags.

No wonder fake Coach fobs are rampant! With no really exacting rules, or enough fobs to compare from that are authentic, it's hit and miss. I usually check other same fobs on Ebay, but they are all different too. Like the new feather ones, there are at least a half dozen different models.
Thanks again!

You're welcome! As with anything Coach, unless you know your product, it is always a good idea to get everything authenticated. I have a file of pictures of authentic fobs. When I come across one I'm not familiar with, I do a search of the reference library or this thread to see what I can learn about it. Some counterfeits are really close to the real thing but a side by side comparison usually will show differences. There are a zillion current feather fobs!
