I don't think I've ever seen this penguin before. Anyone have a style number?

The seller obviously doesn't understand what "new with tags" means! On a related note, I got the Boston terrier in a somewhat beat-up condition and I was able to make it look much better!

I've seen several of these over the past years that I have been collecting....meaning collecting fobs, not the penguin. I've never bought one because I don't care for it (nor the bulldog that is made the same way), but I do think it is authentic. It is made in the same 'pieced together' style as several of the older dog fobs and the ombre heart.

The seller didn't take it down because she thought it was fake, she took it down to relist it with a BIN of $59 for a buyer. These penguins always sell kind of high.

BTW....It was NOT my penguin and I did NOT buy it. :p

Drats! I wish I would have saved the photo. I'd like to look at it again. As I recall, it was similar to the bulldog you referenced but it had virtually no details. I remember thinking it didn't look done. The bulldog is adorable and you're right, the leather was very similarly pieced together.

The recent penguin's not really mu cup of tea. I bought the elephant the last time there was an outlet coupon just to get my total up to the 25% level. I don't love it either but it was free!

I'm kicking myself for not getting the jeweled penguin from our friend in Japan. It was a steal at only $40!
ooh, I didn't see the jeweled penguin. Do you have a picture?

Most current leather fobs are too simple. I kind of wanted the whale but I've never seen it on ebay or at the outlet.

I would have loved to get this for this price, even with the stain: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Flowe...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I don't like the really simple fobs either. I figure if I really liked them, I could get someone to make a copy a lot cheaper!

$40!!

Wow! I want to send her my shopping list and have her find them for me; and then sell them each to me for under $50. Sometimes I don't understand her pricing. When I bought the metallic hearts, she had two listed. I made an offer on the cheaper one. The more expensive one is still listed, I think. I can't tell the difference.

She always has a great selection of older fobs. I wonder how she has been able to find them...IDK, but at least it gives us a chance to get them :D

I must have at least half of the ones she's selling. Maybe I should consider selling on Ebay or Bonz after all. (If one of the Penelope Flower Charms is worth $198, I wonder what the full set would be worth?) :D

That one has been listed for $198 by several sellers but I don't think it ever sold for that much. The other Penelope flowers always are cheaper. I think the year of the dragon and action words sell for more.

A few years ago I used to go to the outlet and pick up one of each fob. Then when I got home I figured out which ones to keep and either sold or returned the others. Now I'm seeing fobs I sold or returned on ebay for 4 or more times what I paid and kind of wish I had kept them.

I thought I was going to stop at 100 fobs but I hit that number and kept going! At least they take up less room than bags.

Yep, that's another reason that they're easy to collect.

(It's also a LOT easier to sneak new ones past the DH after a shopping trip!)

Oh I know! I've been buying on ebay, and it's easy to carry those packages in from the mailbox sandwiched between the bills and catalogs, but a purse package on the porch is much harder to hide! The fobs from Japan have to be signed for, so that is difficult too. I just hope he doesn't see the declared value on the box!

Here's a beautiful fob at a good starting price. The one I have had 3 little Coach hangtags on the chain that this one does not which is a little weird but it's still really pretty.

BEWARE OF THIS SELLER!!!

She cobbles together her own keychains made from bits and pieces of Coach keychains and either makes false claims about them or hedges about them being made like that from the factory.

She'll take off all the charms from a Coach keychain and then takes and puts each charm onto a key ring and claims it as a nwot's keychain....that is probably what she'll use those tiny hang tags for, to put one on a keyring along with a single charm. And she used to make jewelry using keychain charms and claimed them as nwot's Coach jewelry.....not exactly a lie, but then again, not exactly the truth either. I'm not sure she still makes jewelry or not.

She also has another seller ID, but I can't think of it right now.

I had no idea. Glad you were able to come along and provide more info. I'd hate to have someone disappointed over something I recommended.

To give you another idea about her auctions check the auction below out.....someone called her on it and she shut it down.......

Not only is it just one of a set, she just opened the clip and closed it on the chain, it isn't even properly attached.

When I saw her name, I thought I remembered there was something fishy about her.

I thought about telling her. I thought it might have been an honest mistake.

I've seen other sellers get away with selling fobs that are missing charms without disclosing it.
