I think I like the card cases better than the Dylan 8s. Just because they're less bulky; Dylan 8 seems like it could overwhelm a bag or look like a wallet on the outside of a bag which isn't very safe. Card cases are cute, small and I think can work in more different ways. Ultimately personal preference I suppose.

On another subject....
I've said this before but, I'm confused as to why everyone is saying "X left" about nearly every item from Fall 2017. Am I to believe that all these items that Coach premiered during their runway show were secretly all sold out to a select few? What exactly would be the point of that? I can't think of a single high-end designer (except maybe a couture collection which only makes one of each gown or some exclusive pieces from ultra high-end brands) that sells out all their good stuff before it gets to stores. If I wasn't a member of these forums, I would never know about calling to order before things come out and probably wouldn't be able to locate half the style numbers. So I'd never be able to get any items from any collection?
I'm over the hype at this point, if they really made like 50 of a bag or a charm then I guess it's not for me. I like to see all my options in front of me, with actual details and photos (at the very least the ability to see both sides of an item before ordering). I would be shocked if this is the business strategy Coach has taken up, since it's pretty much the worst money making idea ever and would make them even more exclusive than the most coveted runway designers (which I also doubt they're going for here).
I love seeing a new collection as it's hitting the runways, and obsessing over finding clues and hints about what items will be sold as much as the next person, but I don't like the frantic feeling of seeing some cool pieces and feeling like 'omg 3 left order now or you'll never have anything like this'. If I wasn't on a self-inflicted Coach ban I'd be ordering out of serious FOMO.

Everyone that has been able to secure pieces already: big congrats and I'm so excited for you and I love seeing your photos. I just wanted to say what I said above in case other people aren't as decided on particular pieces and are afraid they won't have time to decide.

I agree with what you're saying. I like the ability to walk into a store and see all of my options and make a smart decision on my purchase. It's unfair to a lot of people as you said. But a lot of brands ((and hopefully Coach)) do reserve a number of the pieces on the side to be shipped out to stores when the collection is released so that people who were unable to pre-order can walk into the store and get it themselves. I guess the best solution is to talk with an SA asap if you see something you are interested in purchasing so that they keep you updated.

Hey y'all! So I actually have a Dylan 8. It is very cute and I love it but there is one con for me. The dog clip is so heavy! Like *HEAVY*!! I like chunky hardware that have some weight to it but this dog clip sorta overwhelms the whole pouch and is super heavy that I feel like it's just gonna rip off of the pouch one day. But everything else is very beautiful. The front turnlock pocket is pretty tight but will stretch overtime. Overall I do love it but I think I would be better off not having it. I think the card case charm would be a better choice. Here are some pics for y'all, she's very pretty so it's hard for me to let it go!View attachment 3800786View attachment 3800787View attachment 3800788View attachment 3800789View attachment 3800790View attachment 3800791

Oh WOW, I wasn't aware of just how substantial that dog clip is from looking at the pictures online. That makes is a pass for me. Also --the design reminds me of the cases you would buy for a digital camera (the small, portable kind) back in 2008. Not sure if that's the vibe I want for a bag charm...

I hear you, and that's kind of my point, a collection should go to stores not just be reserved on the side. One shouldn't need to have a dedicated SA with every brand in order to get nice pieces from a collection. I get that limited and exclusive things (in life, not just bags) tend to be more appreciated and valued; I have no problem with this and certainly do not wish for them to make so many bags that they end up in outlets/clearance section. However, you'd think SAs are giving these things away for free with the way you have to track them down!

Shopping and fashion are hobbies, of course, but if you follow several brands and have the resources to buy pieces from the newest collections, I assume that shopping isn't a full time occupation (for most). So even with brands more luxurious than Coach, no customer is expected to carefully track a runway show, sort through Instagram posts or forum posts and try to guess the dimensions / colors / style numbers of bags and then call their SAs and pre-order. If they are expected to track stuff down, then the SAs are generally more informed than Coach SAs, who aren't given a lot of info on new items. Granted, if you see something amazing that's also limited, yes you'd have to do this, but that's usually the exception not the rule. Let us not forget, we are customers; we control the market, and we don't need to (definitely shouldn't need to) try so hard and panic so much just to get something that is presented by a company as being part of a collection.

Ooh, that floral interior is to die for!

I think these are numbers left "for now." Coach usually has some number of new things out, probably so people see it and psyched up about it. There will be more if these to order sometime soon for Fall.

Agreed. It seems SA's want to push us to buy stuff, but just remember that this is Coach- the initial release is limited, but more will be released. If the item in question is something you cannot live without, buy it! If you are on the fence, hold off. There is always a lot of hype around new releases.

Haha you're totally right! It reminds me of those digital camera cases too now that you mention it. It is definitely cute, but a little impractical. I think the card cases are cute and super functional.
