My opinion on large bags (please no one get offended, I get some people love giant bags for all the reasons I will say I hate them, and that's the beauty of having many different tastes on this forum).
I'm 5'8'' and I still don't like large bags, which isn't surprising because in my view the very large purses don't even look good on the 5'10'' models. For work stuff, or carrying a lot of extra things and papers, I like tote (or a backpack if more casual) I understand totes because they're really convenient and functional. You can set a tote down and not lug it around everywhere all day too. In fact, large bags are also really bad for your shoulders, neck and back - even if you don't have problems in those areas right now.
One of my friends love giant purses, all of her handbags just look like bags to me, and they're not cheap either. She usually puts everything in the giant bag and then lugs it around all day which is really terrible for her shoulders and back. She can't ever find anything inside her bag and when she sets it down people joke about how she has bricks in there. One time we were joking around and I said 'there's definitely stuff in there you do not need to carry with you at all times' so we went through her whole bag together to see what's in there. I don't know how she justified half the heavy stuff she was carrying. Other times, if she's on a day off she brings her giant handbag to brunch or while knowing she has to walk long distances and only takes a few things (phone, wallet etc) but then her bag is 70% empty and just looks sad and baggy. I just don't get giant handbags because they just look ridiculous to me; like trying to carry a suitcase on your shoulder and it overpowers everything else including you spine.
