I'm stoked to see that this version of the Saddle Bag is back with Black Copper hardware! The brass turned me off of the first incarnation, especially since the photos all showed Black Copper initially.

I really like the black copper hardware too, but since a few experienced chipping on it, I'm staying away from it. I have the kinda of luck that would make me one of the ones who would have chipping......and chipped hardware would drive me batty.I'm stoked to see that this version of the Saddle Bag is back with Black Copper hardware! That's what I thought too........and that it looks more like luggage.
All my 1941 has the Black Copper because I just love how it looks. I know there is always the possibility that it will show wear, but I wouldn't buy items with hardware I just don't like to avoid this.
I don't buy anything with hardware I don't like.....which is why I don't have bags with gold hardware. I was just stating that as much as I like the black copper, I can't comfortable own it because of the chipping issue. Things like that make me paranoid about using a bag, so I just generally stay away from them. I prefer the black Rogue with brass hardware, but unfortunately they didn't offer that combo in the 25 size. So I bought the one with black copper hardware and I never used it because the possibility of chipping worried me.
I agree! I'll take my chances...personally, it just would not bother me. My Denim Rogue 36 is the only "casualty" so far, and I still say that unless someone is deliberately looking for the hardware defect, it's not even noticeable. Maybe if EVERY 1941 bag I owned had issues, I'd feel differently. For ME, the wrong hardware color is the deal breaker! To each his own, lol.

Haha, it does look more like luggage, but that's fine by me! It's the price tag that I'm struggling with!
We all have our own list of things that either work for us or don't. Personally, my own fear, is my fickleness -- and that after I think I will LOVE a bag, and spend good money on it, i may lose interest in it BEFORE the tags are cut off but waaay after the return window!
Well, since Coach has shrunk the return window so much, that is an understandable concern. Sometimes I worry a bit if I really am going to love the bag after I cut the tags, so I'll walk around the house and 'pretend' use it to make sure it's going to work for me, then cut the tags. I love gunmetal, brass and black hardware, silver and antiqued silver is also good for me. I'm just not much of a fan of gold or light gold, though there has been the odd exception here and there.....as in my raspberry textured Carrie.
So is the Rogue 36 officially phased out now, with the 39 replacing it, as far as you know?
I do like your idea of testing out the bag, around the house, for a while...I guess the key is to do that within the return window.
