Wow very cool! What color bag are you rocking your keychain with? :amuse: I'm always very intrigued about holographic finishes as well but there's something about the oil slick look where it looks rainbow at every angle whereas holographic becomes dull without proper light source of sunlight reflection. I kinda got hooked when I saw Chanel bags with rainbow hardware but Coach is doing it wonderfully (and much more affordably!) on these keychains. So much more character and I like you can clip it on whatever you want instead of embedded hardware.
Coach also did bags with rainbow hardware a year or two ago. I've worn Rexy on my Chelsea turquoise croc. I don't have a picture. It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of this bag! Here is the drill down. I also have a Coach hologram wallet from the last release.

It's not really holographic. Rexy is actually anodized. It's a process to make the rainbow colors. This is a blue steel rogue (though the color in photo is not very accurate) .

Yes, he is much smaller than the leather ones, and then the metal studded one.

Thanks for the info. I'd die if they made a jumbo anodized Rexy!:drool::drool: Coach are you listening?

Oooh see this is why I need to pay more attention. I haven't gotten into higher-end bags more until very recently. I remember when Coach was very in a few years back then it was Michael Kors... So I thought they were too much of a fad and everyone was wearing that Coach C monogram print everywhere, then it died. I had no idea they were making bags like the Kisslock w/ Rexy and carriage print until I stumbled on this forum. They have my attention now especially with the Rexy accessories too. Also finding the mohawk ones beautiful, reminds me of Fendi monster charms but more up my alley.

I think the whole signature monogram thing fell out of favor. I've always hated that style but I happened into a coach a few years ago and really liked one one of there plain Jane leather duffle bags, it's still today one of my favoriteist pieces! I was hooked with there leather pieces after that. Then i saw a big dinosaur on there display window a couple Christmases ago, and oh man! Forget it! Coach now has all my money!

I think that's me now discovering the dinosaur. I do recall seeing them in some Vogue ads as keychains but didn't really bother to follow up until now. I agree but that monogram C look was so IN then. After the hype, they cropped up in garage sales and thrift stores and when I see anybody wear them now, they just seem a bit tacky and dated. The serif C monogram really throws me off as a graphic designer because the font just looks distorted and stretched and kind of early 2000s dated. It's kind of like seeing as if Comic Sans or Papyrus font was written all over a bag! Even when Coach did the sans-serif C that looked like partial outlined perfect circles, I knew the style wouldn't last. Glad to hear you went with something without a monogram print. I see the value now in that they age much more gracefully.

It's weird because I don't feel the same way about Louis Vuitton monogram? A bit flashy yes... But perhaps because it's a pattern and not letters but just the relevance too and how it continues to stand the test of time it kinda already is a classic but I don't feel the same way about Coach monogram or even Michael Kors monogram. I tried to steer clear of that bandwagon having learnt from Coach.

Wow I came here to find more info on the oil slick/rainbow colored keychains and you guys are on top of it so this is probably old news! Rexy is available online for $85 and I almost pulled the trigger but saw some talk of a unicorn?! Anyone have a hi-res image of the unicorn? Would love to see the clarity on it but I think I might like Rexy more because of the complexity and unicorns are really really trendy. I started to think that these would be so cool if people did the oil slick plating on more keychains and phone cases and such... I've seen them a bunch on fidget spinners on eBay. But are these too trendy? Hear the plating process is pretty costly to do the rainbow effect and does anyone have any experience with how well does the rainbow plating hold up? What does it wear down to underneath? Is it a silver/steel/titanium color and does it easily tarnish?

I've had my oil slick Rexy for a year now and he looks great. I have not noticed any wear/tear. I think he really goes well with any bag! He's very pretty & well worth the money. Here's a pic of him on my Alma BB:

And here is the drilldown of the oil slick unicorn-

Love seeing all these Rexies!

Hmm seeing the unicorn now I'm not so sure. The little diamond eye looks too big in proportion to the head size and the placement seems off too, too close to the horn and top of the head in general. Love everything else though but I think that's gonna keep me from going for the unicorn.

I'm waiting for the leather charms honestly, really want to see a leather uni.
