Yes, you are correct, it is goat. I have had several handbags made from goat and I love them due to their long lasting life as well as resistant to damage.

After reading your post I am glad I decided to give the Rhyder satchel a chance. I love the style and color of Rhyder satchel violet. It's my first Coach satchel and the second bag I have purchased from the Vevers collection.

Very pretty! Congrats!:smile1:

I think the best red currant is on the Crosby!

I couldn't agree more - I finally went to see what's new at Coach in The Bay dept store (not the FP boutique floor sets).

The Bay has one mini Gramercy (printed haircalf) and maybe they will receive others. It's cute but not tempted at all and in the end, it's 805 cad.

I am not impressed with the leather on the Ranger flap xbody bags at all - it's a gorgeous photogenic bag in the campaign ads though. I checked out the Red and the Black. Saw a few floral printed bags - I do like the print and colour combo but not tempted. I've seen the red Dakotah fringe crossbody but actually not wowed by the red either! It's nice but I'm not in love with it. The Bay has the new red current Turnlock Borough in reg and small size but I'm not tempted by the colour.

The red current Crosby is the prettiest and I do like the leather but I'm not going to buy any Crosby bags either - don't like them enough.

I went back and checked out stuff today too--I had to take back something--but left empty handed. I guess I am going to wait and see what the gunmetal Borough looks like.

I heard the next floor set is a refresh--not a full reset--in late November. :D

I have a feeling my wallet is safe from FP for a long while!

Bet that is when the Tatum Whiplash totes are coming out

My wallet is safe too and I'm not even suffering!

I haven't given up on Coach entirely, still like the brand BUT I really don't see how they can ask higher prices (on top of which, in Canada we've been hit with prepaying the duty now) and yet, the overall quality of the bag doesn't justify the 'new' price. It's so easy to walk away.

That is what I was afraid of. It doesn't matter how much I love a style if they aren't using quality materials.

I have so many bags, at this point I am looking for something that I **love**...I know it will come my way, just a matter of time. :p

Yes - did you see the Ranger bags for yourself? It's such a letdown! The campaign ad photos are GREAT but then...

I think, in an effort to revamp and save losses all at the same time, Coach must have thought they could cut corners on quality - ugh, did the suits really think nobody would notice?

Glad it wasn't just me! I touched the leather about the 17th of October, and immediately lost interest afterwards; which is a good thing, since I could pool all those funds towards the Snoopy collection :p. Love it when my wishlist actually shortens!

No I haven't seen them. I'm about an hour away from a Coach store so I usually wait for Macy's to get them.

I think Coach has been cutting quality for awhile now. It seems like they keep cutting more thinking no one will notice. The quality on the Legacy duffles wasn't fantastic but I was willing to overlook it because of the color and style. I like my spectator archival Rambler but the leather is too shiny and not close at all to the quality of my original Rambler's Legacy. There were issues with both Legacy and Madison where there would be uneven pebbling throughout a bag or panels that were a different color. I really like the leather on the Legacy pebbled drawstring although they had issues with odor on these. I have a feeling that Coach can cut corners and still produce a quality pebbled leather but the cost-cutting shows on the smooth or semi-smooth leathers they are using.

At least it makes my decision easier. I think I'll wait until they make a small Dakotah in a color I love. Hopefully, this will be a lasting style for Coach. Then I only have to decide if I love the mini Gramercy and figure out which color to get.

My local Macys has both the red & black ranger bags. The style is cute but the leather only so so. I got the regular oxblood Gramercy instead for about the same price.

Yes, I know what you mean about the Coach quality in last few years. I noticed it but they kept their prices reasonable and even then...the sales and/or promos. Finally, I just clearly see a line that they've crossed now which makes other brands much more attractive in comparison even if I like a certain design. Will watch and see what happens next.

I looked at your violet Rhyder today and it is beautiful! Congrats and enjoy!

Lately I have returned more bags than I have kept, and always for quality or design issues. What I am seeing is a brand with a split identity: some bags that are of extremely high quality, and the rest of decreasing lower-standards quality. And yet not much a difference in price point. The Rhyder I returned was $495 and extremely substandard, and the small Dakotah was $525 (I paid $425) and is exquisite. Makes not a lot of sense.

And my 2012 Legacy bags are all much better. Colorblock Candace was $468 less PCE, and is an incredibly made and designed bag. My Madison bags, from Sophia to Phoebe, are all well worth their price point.
