My order from the last sale came! Both the card holder and bag were in a mailer envelope, so I was nervous, but they were both in plastic wrappers. The saddle had no stuffing inside, but did have the 1941 dust bag. I think it's a keeper! Cute color and I like the oxblood contrast leather. The card holder is cute, but I'm not loving it has a scratch on it on the back. It wouldn't bother me so much if it was just for me, but I had gotten it for my intern who just graduated college and got her first job.

All that smooth leather is gorgeous! Too bad about the gift though. :(

I don't think you're being too picky. It's going to show scratches, but it's brand new. It doesn't look too bad. You might be able to hide the scratches a bit. Have you tried gently rubbing it with your finger to see if it hides the scratch? Leather conditioner might hide it too. I hope it works for you. That's a great gift!
