Nope. The blouse must be full length sleeves, though you are allowed to "cuff" your shirt sleeves while working (basically just folding the cuffs over).
The sweater, if it has sleeves, must be full length sleeves. However, the sweater can be sleeveless/a sweater vest, or you may wear a black or gray suiting vest, provided that both are plain with no embellishments (pockets, pinstripes, etc), or you may opt to wear just the white blouse with no extra layer over it.

I always wanted to ask why do they have to show the manager their hand bags and their contents when they leave at the end of the day? Is this usual at other stores?

I was told that it was to make sure that they did not have any merchandise in their bags. I had to do that too when I worked in retail years ago.

I work at another boutique and we open our bags for the manager when we leave as well. I understand this is common place in retail. Some of the major department stores in our area require SAs to carry clear plastic purse like bags. I'd rather show my contents than have them on display for the whole world. lol.

thats what i thought till i saw a manager walk in from her break in white, sleeveless, collared shirt.

as long as your black sweater or blazer's sleeve is to the wrist and you do not roll it up, no one will know and no one will care.

because they want to make sure you don't take anything with you when you leave. i gotta say, having worked retail for a long time, when i started my non-retail job it was so weird when i first left..i looked at my supervisor and he just smiled, said see ya, and turned around and went back to helping someone else.. it was SO WEIRD not to have my bag checked out! i was so used to it, it was like that thing that marked my 'end of the day' thing before leaving work. :p

The sweater doesnt really bother me because Im always cold..But can the white button down collard blouse be short & long sleeves?

It depends on the store. Some are more lenient than others. At one of the outlets I frequent, the SAs do wear short sleeved or sleeveless collared white button down shirts under their sweaters. If they aren't wearing a sweater, they can wear long sleeved blouses or 3/4 length sleeved blouses. Some outlets let their SAs wear black Coach tennis shoes, others do not. As for pants, I've seen black, grey, black with pinstripes, and grey with a faint plaid print. The best way to know for sure is to ask the managers at the store you are going to work for.

discount is same regardless if you're manager, assistant manager, sales, cashier or stock but managers being full time gets to buy 4 more then part times (usually sales cashier or stock) do

Poster madisonave5011 is an assistant manager at an outlet ... he would certainly know the most current policy regarding things like discounts, purchase amounts, and purchasing before things hit the floor. :smile1:
