Coach Brooklyn Shoulder Bag

You guys, I've heard reports that the inside feels cheap and prone to flaking (like, cheap paint that might flake off). For those of you that have it, is that your impression too?

I have not bought from Coach for a while but went to the store to check out the Brooklyn 28 in dark ruby. The color is not what I was expecting compared to online and the 28 is smaller that I thought. Then I saw the 39 in suede and it was an immediate yes. It's big but it's slouchy (much slouchy than the full leather) so it's not as overwhelming. Such a fantastic fall bag. Love it.

Added mod shots for size since I'm only 5ft.

The dark ruby for comparison, the bag was stuffed with a pillow though so it kept its structure.

Felt exact same. I’m going to buy it this week. I even tried their suede loafers on and was so pretty

I have the suede on the way, and also have the black leather. The leather gets slouchy pretty quickly!

Sharing my experience with the Brooklyn 39.

Bought Brooklyn last weekend. My store had Dark Lime hidden in a drawer so I grabbed it while I had the chance. Carried it for the first time yesterday while strolling through an outdoor vintage/art/craft fair, then later through an antique mall. After a total of only 3 hours of carry time, I was over it.

I fought with it every single time I reached in to grab my wallet. Because of the single strap, the bag won’t open wide enough and is too deep to get your hand into the bottom of the bag without getting hung up on the edge of the opening. Take it off your shoulder, lay it across your opposing forearm and it hangs too low and the snap constantly closes. Set the bag down to grab wallet and it takes two hands to open the bag and the strap is erect and in the way. Sigh.

The positives are - it’s a trending & stunning profile, it’s lightweight, and it lays nicely against the body. Admittedly, I got caught up in the hype and now I’m $500+ into a bag I want to love but just makes me mad.

Try using Leather CPR to soften the leather. I did that and it’s a lot easier to use.

Apologies if I missed it here, what can the 28 fit? Could it fit a iPad Pro full size or 14 inch laptop? What’s coach sale situations these days? Ty

Do you think if you went down a size you’d love it?
