I havent read the 11 pages. So Im not sure if this has been mentioned.

So, just in case it hasnt..........

Target has a VERY high end line. They actually have a boutique in Beverly Hills. It carries high end brands. It is called Target Couture: Targèt Couture - SHOPINTUITION

I believe the BH boutique carries things the site doesnt.

I went to Target a 8am today in Canton MI....YUK, I am sure they are real bags, but they seemed yukky...I guess I am used to the newer stuff, they only had a smaller type tote, looks like a lunch tote but taller. A few wallets, but even they seemed thin, or the leather seemed thin. I took a pic with camera phone, lets see if this works.

THOSE bags have plastic on the handles. Coach does NOT put plastic on their leather handles. So obviously, they are fake.

86leo, I noticed that too. My SA has always let me inspect the bags before I purchase them and the straps never have plastic. They have this plastic, foamy-ish packaging used to safely secure loose items in packages sent through the mail. I'll try to get a picture of these Coach bags at Target because when I looked at them, something looked really wrong!

In regards to Mossimo. It used to be a SKATEBOARD brand. Mostly skaters (and Bettie's) wore that brand - I used to work at skate shops way back in my young days :) It was never a "high end" brand. Just an alternative brand.

Just a little FYI.

yeahhhh but if you think about it, the shirts was NEVER cheap prior to introducing them at target....sure it wasnt a hundred plus for tshirt (a la gucci) but it was 50ish+ for a tshirt (a la coach)...dont get me wrong; right now i love coach and have tons of coach bags but you have to understand, the spectrum of high end bags, it's towards the bottom...i hate to admit it but with Target (or Tar J as i like to call it) selling them, the appeal has decreased (at least for me)

Ok so i tottally just found out about this now and am kind of mad....Think about it! Remember a WHILE ago Mossimo was such a crazy popular brand? It was very expensive and highly sought after, as SOON as target started selling it, the brand turned into CRAP. As in no one buys it and its really cheap...

i hope hope HOPEEEE that doesnt happen to coach, im seriously thinking about not buying any because i think its just unfair to sell them there...

SORRY if i offended anyone! but its just my opinion!

Don't apologize. I certainly feel the same way. If Coach were sold in Target I wouldn't want it any longer. That's just me. Selling it at Target cheapens it. Target is afterall just an 'uppity' Walmart IMO...lol. I don't shop at either unless I am getting art supplies or something toys for the kids.

im so very glad other people feel the same way...hehe i kinda sorta felt stuck up saying it like thattttttttt but i cant help it :(

and im not stuck up, i pinky swear ;) hehehe i Just dont want the value of my hard earned bags going down!!!

Thanks again to everyone for sharing my views :)

I agree. I guess to some it's just the thought of having Coach accessible to everyone along in buying candies, chips, shampoo - among other things.

I know I'm a little late in responding to this post... but here it goes...

I'm not so much distraught by the fact that Coach may or maynot be easily accessible being in Target stores... what bothers me more is if I am going to pay so much money for a great quality bag, I want it to be of GREAT QUALITY. I've seen it so often where little kids are running through the isles and knock something (perhaps a coach bag) off a rack onto the floor, and then they kick it around a few times in passing... and then somebody might run over the straps or the bag itself with their cart cuz they didn't see it. And somebody picks it up and leaves it in another part of the store for somebody else to knock it around a few times. By the time that bag makes it back onto it's respective shelf, it is no longer of great quality (at least to me it isn't). I want to be the first person to lay hands on my new Coach bag, and if not the absolute first, then I want to know that whoever else touched it before me had the same love and respect for Coach bags (i.e. those that shop in the boutiques and department stores) that they wouldn't treat it like crap.

^Wow, I just needed to vent a little... lol... let my opinion be known! OR, maybe I just live where there are ghetto Targets... lol... jk, either way... That's how i feel...

well, i think we can rest assured that Target is not selling authentic Coach bags.

However, it would be nice if someone could go buy one, take a bunch of pictures for us and proove it, etc. Then return it. LOL

After reading the MSNBC article, I noticed that Coach will not be tightening the reigns as to where their bags are distributed. Here is an excerpt from an April 24th article from Thestreet.com...

The earnings figures exclude the results of Coach's corporate accounts business, which the company wound up during the quarter "in order to better control the location and image of the brand where Coach product is sold."

"Simply put," Frankfort said during a conference call with analysts, "our goal is to curtail the diversion of our products into non-image-enhancing environments, such as the warehouse retailers and the discount chains."

Frankfort told analysts the problems with the corporate accounts business had become a brand integrity issue, with Coach products turning up for sale at such bulk discount retailers as Costco.

So it looks like gone are the days of seeing Coach at Costco, TJ Maxx, and other places of the sort.

Yes, Coach is trying to curtail corporate gift giving and other distribution of bags so that retailers like Costco and Sam's Club don't end up with them-- I discussed this with my manager a week or two ago. And I kind of agree, because at our Sam's Club here they have a couple of bags that were in the OUTLETS LAST SEASON and they are charging full retail for them. Irritates me. And people buy them! Because they think "Oh! Sam's Club! It's gotta be a good deal!" It's not. I'm glad Coach is going to put an end to it-- at least in Costco and Sam's-- or try to. TJ Maxx doesn't bother me so much.
