I went to the Target at Sterling VA today, and they had almost exactly the same selection as in the picture Kiari posted above. Funnily enough, I went to the Coach Retail shop in Tysons Mall (VA) this morning, and the difference in presentation, service & general atmosphere was amazing. When I buy a $200 or $300 plus purse, I want to feel special - wasn't really getting that feeling at Target!

Hi all! I did a search and found this thread...I was just wondering if you guys had established if Target sells real Coach items or not. I was getting opinions from both sides while reading the thread.
I ask because I have a friend who would love one of the wallets I saw at Target today. I have to say I was quite taken aback when I looked over and saw Coach items on display at Target!!
So what's the consensus? Authentic or faux?

I saw a very similar display at the Fair Lakes (VA) Target and the items in question looked authentic but OLD. Old as in the vachetta looked like it had been around a while and left out in the sun. And the prices weren't any great shakes either. LOL
Personally I would not buy a Coach bag at target. If I want a good deal, I'll go to the outlet or even ebay (if its a reputable coach seller). I saw the signature stipe tote that I was eyeing at Sam's Club yesterday and I was so tempted to get it because it looked real but I said no to myself and realized that after standing infront of the glass display case for 15min no one approached me to ask if I wanted it...my loyality will stay with Coach Stores and Outlets
MHarvey - I was just coming in to post that the Fair Lakes Target carries Coach but I see you already found them!
I just found this thread (and this site) after doing a search for "Coach AND Target". I just saw the Coach bags at my Target for the first time the other day and was shocked to see them there. Just odd to see Coach at Target!

I just came back from the Target in Viera, FL and got a wallet the larger size for 79. I'm going to post pics in the authenica forum. I figure I can always return it but 79 is a pretty good deal!

OK. Here's what I think. They are VERY REAL. That black purse in the top left corner looks exactly like my signature clip bag from 2002!!!!!!!! The orange lining tipped me off.
Did the front of the purse look like this?
Ok so i tottally just found out about this now and am kind of mad....Think about it! Remember a WHILE ago Mossimo was such a crazy popular brand? It was very expensive and highly sought after, as SOON as target started selling it, the brand turned into CRAP. As in no one buys it and its really cheap...

I feel the same way.
I don't feel comfortable knowing these will be available at target.
In regards to Mossimo. It used to be a SKATEBOARD brand. Mostly skaters (and Bettie's) wore that brand - I used to work at skate shops way back in my young days
It was never a "high end" brand. Just an alternative brand.Just a little FYI.
