Coach at Target stores?

I wouldn't ever buy a Coach purse someplace like that... just because of the fake factor. But I almost felt - degraded. I just walked in with my brand spankin new Coach handbag... and there sits, what appears to be, a load of fakes.
I am going to bring my DH up there sometime within the next few days... he knows what they are supposed to look like and he's really nit-picky. He'd be able to hold one of mine up against the "supposed fakes" and find differences.

I just called the Coach Hotline to report the purses at my Target, but they just had a voicemail. It did make me sad to know how much I had paid the day before on my brand new purse at the Coach store and there hanging on the racks (not even locked down or wrapped or anything) were Coaches for half the price.
It is making me think twice about my love for Target!

I registered just to tell you this - I was at the Target in Laurel, MD today (off 295 right by NSA) and saw a whole rack of Coach Hamptons Signature bags. I was so shocked that I gooled Coach at Target after not finding anything on target.com and saw all the links to lawsuits. They looked fairly authentic to me, although I'll admit I'm not really a fan of that line.
Well, I went to a target around where I live in Palm Harbor, Florida and they were selling coach wallets and handbags there ranges between $99-$200. The handbags were very small but the wallets were small tri-folds and large with the signature C's in black and khaki. The thing that was weird is that they didn't have the same Coach sales tag on them, but a Target like tag. I opened a wallet and it had all the documents like a normal Coach product would however. I emailed the counterfeit dept at Coach. Does anyone know if the lawsuit was in Target's favor and they're allowed to sell them? They also were not in any case but a normal wallet plastic display rack sitting on the jewelry counter. Hmm...:shame:
I had to register just to write a few things about this whole target and coach thing. I worked for target while I was going to school and my best friend still works there. The very second target got these coach bags in she called me on the phone to tell me knowing my love for coach. The bags were not so cute and they looked like an older style. They werent $30 bucks like some people thought but they were priced at about 200. When I asked her if coach was going to be sold at target she told me no. Those bags where just a find by the target buyer ( most likely a lot being sold from a higher end Dept. store) they would stay on the shelf until they were sold and that would be the end. Now i do want to mention that this is the 2nd time in the last 2 years this has happened. The last one I heard about on the news. The report stated that they were real bags purchased as part of a buy out from a dept store. SOOoo end of story ladies your beatuiful coach that you spent your Hard earned (or however you come into it) money on is safe. Those coaches are safe

I thought I remembered hearing that Coach was suing Target for selling these bags since they weren't authorized to. Also, a couple of designer jeans companies and D&B were also suing, I believe.
Here are the links..these say that the bags there were actually fake, but then Target says that the bags were real. Regardless, it seems that Target wasn't authorized to sell Coach bags.

These were the ones at my Target in West Palm Beach, FL ... they went quick too, today there were only a few black/white ones left. The ones I saw were definately authenitc, just not any of my favorite things ...
I was at my Target in Auburn Hills,MI today and all of the "Coach" bags they had there had the plastic on the handles... you know. that clear tubing plastic....
I have serious doubts (as previously posted) about the authenticity of the bags at my Target... they just look funny.
DH was with me and he even commented on how "scratchy" the jacquard fabric was. I emailed Coach with the info... I guess that is all I can do.

It was my understanding that Coach dropped the lawsuit after target agreed to pull everything from the shelves. But now that they seem to have made their way back onto the shelves I'm surprised we're not hearing about a renewed lawsuit.

That's why I am not a fan of the older signature ... to me it really looks fake because it's so scratchy!! But I have seen the older styles at outlets and really think the ones at mine were real (the khaki I KNOW had real vachetta).
