Coach And Kate Spade May Be Merging - Declining Sales All Around

I don't know if I'm missing something or being overly sensitive or what, but the whole "Coach bought KS in order to appeal to millennials" that I've been reading in the comments everywhere rubs me the wrong way. At this point, I think KS needs Coach more than Coach needs KS. I am a millennial and I love me some Coach, especially the 1941 line. KS and even MK quality doesn't even compare. KS just overwhelms me. I go to the website and there's just so much that I don't even know what to focus on. It's the same problem I've had with MK lately. Instead of releasing a gazillion different bags every two months, how about focus on a few key pieces and do them well - quality over quantity?

I just hate that when most people think of Coach, they think of the outlet stuff or the tacky C prints of the past decade or so. The stuff Coach is coming out with now blows all of that out of the water. They truly are a completely different brand now and I wish people wouldn't dismiss them because of their old reputation.
Kate Spade did/does need Coach more than the opposite, or they wouldn't have sold out.

Where you live definitely changes that over saturated angle .. here, yes tons of Coach but all of a sudden KS is everywhere BUT i know an outlet KS store that opened up in a mall that isn't horribly far away so i think that is why lol.

I adore LV, want one but i find myself questioning the price even moreso when i see the poor beat up second hand ones, i often wonder is it just 'purse abuse' or is it the quality. Coach, is okay but the prices of the current stuff just doesn't please me.. i will not go there for what they resale for, not that i buy with that intent but i don't want to completely eliminate the option of out of possibilities...

Frankly, i am back out of designer again, i find if i were to be honest, i can get better made, better leathers and so much cheaper from labels not associated with 'high fashion' ...

Should be interesting to see how this all ends, a sinking ship should be removing weight not adding it. Good luck Coach.
Lol....Coach is not anywhere close to being a "sinking ship." Where would you get that idea?!

This is exactly why I don't understand all the "Coach is going to ruin KS" comments on all the articles. If KS was in a good place, they wouldn't have been bought out.
Right. They will lose employees from the Kate Spade side, how many and who is yet to be known. There's always some employee fall out in an acquisition. Coach gas made the statement that Kate Spade will continue pretty much as is, minus the many flash sales they had.

Around here KS, MK and Coach have fallen to the wayside despite there being outlet stores here. What you see everywhere is LV, whether it's the real deal or knock offs.....though most look genuine to me, no cheap looking fakes.

I live in the MIDDLE.
TB is the current hot thing but WAAAAYYYY to pricey for most.
Coach outlet bags are less than 100$ most of the time so that's what I see the everywhere.

Exactly. Too much $$$$!
There's plenty of those around. I'm not sure which are real & which are not. Coach lost me when they canned all their designers & got new ones. I haven't seen anything I wanted in over a year or so. [emoji849]

We have a Coach outlet so that is what I see most of the time. None of the other designers have an outlet in our area. I see MK quite a bit too since that is sold at Macy's. I see some LV too. I have no idea if they are real. I'm not seeing as many fake Coaches as I used to. I rarely see any other recognizable designer bags. I do notice a difference if I go to someplace fancy. Then I'm more likely to see something good.

Probably bag abuse - if you own one expensive bag, maybe you want to use it to death to get your money's worth.
