Hello! Thank you so much for your answers!

Just trying to know a little more about the evolution of the bag, and maybe find out if it changes the retail price what so ever (being older models).

What I was saying is that newer models also have changed the Stella McCartney pocket engraving material (mine is the same material of the bag). Just curious about the year of mine but I believe is legit, at least  I hope.

Can I also ask advice on cleaning the chains minor scratches with something? Can I improve the look ? Or scratches are just inevitable on these chains?

I thank you all again for your time, great forum
Hi! I have bought older preowned Falabellas that were in better condition than newer ones so it really depends on how often they’re used, how well they’re taken care of and proper storage. The good news is your bag is definitely authentic! No worries there. As for the chains, there’s really nothing that can be done about the scratches that I know of. Sometimes the silver starts to rub off on the chains especially where you hold them and that’s annoying because SM reps don’t offer any help for that. But as long as you take care of it and don’t use it straight for years, it will last. Since you have the pink lining I’d say it’s probably a 2016 or newer. The stamped label on the pocket is still visible and hasn’t completely rubbed off as I’ve seen on some bags so that’s good. There’s no date code so we can’t really tell exactly how old it is. I’ve seen other bags without date codes too so no worries. It’s a classic vegan bag that will last you a long time if you obviously take care of it which I’m sure you will. Sorry I can’t give you an exact date.

No worries there...when it comes to second hand, I don't buy unless I'm 100% certain.

$300 is a great price for a new bag. And you found it so quickly! As for the bag destined back for Japan, at least you can get your money back. The black foldover is a classic...I sold mine - twice - (bought one and sold it then bought another and sold it again). Regrets.

Regrettably, I'm not a fan of Balenciaga. I bought the city once a long time ago in black but it looked like a garbage bag to me - shiny and cracked. I'm sorry for describing it that way. I couldn't get that image out of my mind so I returned it. The only Balenciagas I liked were the more structured ones with the metal decorations - the metallic edge (see pic). I don't think they make those anymore.

I’ve also learned to research everything before I buy preowned.
My hot pink mini arrived yesterday and it’s perfect! MUCH better than that raggedy one I sent back. This one is pristine. I think $300 total was decent for pretty much a new bag. So now I’ll try to sell the hot pink small tote I bought. I already submitted it to Fashionphile. Along with the black foldover I’m totally undecided about. This one is in beautiful condition and I got it for about $185. I haven’t even used it yet.

As for Balenciaga I wasn’t that thrilled with them in the beginning either. But they grew on me because I liked how lightweight they were. Right now I’m using my black city with gold giant 12 hardware. I had a gray with silver metallic edge City but sold it. I loved that bag. The ones you’re describing with the regular hardware took time for me to appreciate. But now I like them too. I’m down to 3 balenciaga bags. Just 2 towns which are a perfect size and my one city. But I think my favorite bags right now that I own are my baguettes.
Here’s the new mini and the black foldover. I need help deciding whether or not to keep it… I don’t want to regret letting it go. About how many designer bags do you own that you regularly use? I think I’m at 15 which is why I’m always selling some too! I have 6 Falabellas right now. I don’t have time to use them all!

The pink mini is awesome! Both bags are keepers. The black foldover is a classic and nice to keep in your wardrobe.
I gave up on the Balenciagas because it was so hard getting the right color and then all the discussions about fading and leather quality made me give up. The harder leather metallic edge were nice but I never made the move.

I'm around 15-20 as well. But I use only a few every day because I like to grab and go and not worry about the weather. I have a couple of Issey MIyake Bao Bao bags - which are another no-worry great synthetic bags and of course Le Pliage.

Hi! I recently bought this stella McCartney crossbody bag for my mom, as a Christmas present. Would appreciate it if somebody could help me authenticating it :). Bought it. Off ebay by the way from a seller that has a very good feedback. Thanks! IMG_3076.pngIMG_3073.pngIMG_3067.png

The bag looks ok but the authenticity cards don't match the bag style. The card says "shaggy dear foldover tote" and this is not a foldover tote. I would question why the seller is not being honest in including these cards.

Can you take a picture of the tag inside the pocket?

Thanks for the reply! I am currently away from home but will do as soon as I get back! Thanks

It might not be authentic ? What are some of the things that might indicate that is authentic ?

I was going to say the same thing as Jess. The tag you received is for a different bag. There’s no shaggy deer on this bag. Can you post a picture of the white date tag including the date. That would help. Are there any zipped pockets on the bag? Thanks.

It's authentic.
Does the seller have the proper authenticity cards for the bag? I would usually not buy or recommend buying from a seller that places the wrong authenticity cards even if the bag is authentic.
Jess, I’m seeing a trend in fake Falabellas all saying FW14 and the font is off. I’m leaning towards saying this bag isn’t authentic. The logo stamp inside is barely visible. Check out the font on this white tag. We typically don’t see these types as were used to Falabellas but based on these 3 things I think it’s better to err on the side of caution with this bag.
