CLOSED - Authenticate This Marc Jacobs

I realise that there aren't any authenticators on here, but I'd like to ask a question for general input.
Is it reasonable to assume that metallic leather bags are hard to fake? I'm eyeing up a metallic on ebay and I'm hoping it's real because it's not pebble or saffiano, and in my mind, there cannot be a huge forgery market on metallics.
Any thoughts?

I think your logic is good, not foolproof. I always examine seller as carefully as the bag FWIW.

Thanks, I really appreciate the response. The seller has only positive ratings (37 sales, all 100% positive) but, I've never bought a pre-loved MJ bag. This is one I haven't seen in person so I'm doubting my ability to judge its authenticity.
Will do some more research and ask for more photos...in the end, I'll have to trust my gut on whether to buy or not.

Could someone please authenticate this Marc Jacobs bag?
I believe it is a 2006 Hobo, though not sure of size.
Bought at a local thrift store...my photos.
Approx. 14”w x 10”h x 4.5”d. Strap drops 10” to buckles.

Sadly there is no authenticator at this time. Hopefully someone who has this bag will see your post. My advice is always to evaluate the seller when you can’t evaluate the bag. They do look pretty good from the quick look I took.

Hi Authenticators! I hope I'm doing this right I bought this on Goodwill.com and recieved it last week. I have no idea what it is OR if it's even an MJ bag but could someone please help ? I'd be sooo thankful! There's some kind of stain on the zipper, but I'm worried it's fake so I'm not going to put a lot into it before I know

I am not an authenticator, but this does not look like my Softshot 21 bag (I have it in the color Cream, purchased from MarcJacobs.com maybe a year ago?). The zipper pulls and the gold writing on the top of the bag are both different. I think you should use a paid authentication service like Authenticate4U. I've used them for 3 separate purchases within the last few weeks and they've been very good and it only costs about $7.
Figuring out how to GET authentication from them was the hard part. Go on their site, there's a link to pay for the service through paypal. Pay through PayPal, and screenshot your receipt. Then send that screenshot along with photos of your bag via Facebook Messenger to them.

Hi, I just read that there are no authenticators here, but I’m worried about this Classic Q Natasha, and hope a more experienced MBMJ collector can comment. The main concerns are that the logo plate on the front flap is way off center, and the crazy lining. The lining is different on my other bags. Is the off center plate a sure sign it’s a fake? I found it in a thrift store a couple of years ago.
Measures approx 14”at widest point, 10” tall, 3.5” deep.
