Currently we do not have an Hermes authenticator, you'll need to use a paid service.

All authenticators are volunteers and may choose to answer posts or not as they individually see fit. For guidelines on what/how to post look at the beginning of this thread.

If you find your post ignored it may be for any reason

'bumping', 'begging' or have a hissy fit will not help
'Barking' when others try to help you will not help
Playing the 'unfair' card will not help.

If reg. members see a post that does not qualify for help you are of course free to prompt the poster (or ignore) but do not get drawn into an argument.

If you find posters rude or breaking tPF rules please report.

As I said, the bag is on hold and can be cancelled/exchanged at this point in time. I’ve been a member here for many years and used to be extremely active on this forum. I understand that there is a slew of one-timers on here asking for help with everything and anything but I kindly request an objective and informal opinion from other OG members such as myself who understand Hermes. Do me the favor please, it isn’t difficult to say “in my opinion it’s authentic” or “in my opinion it is not”

I just purchased this Hermes Jige Elan from Fashionphile but noticed that the blind stamp is not readable.
Is this normal? I am concerned that it is not authentic. Thank you for any comments or advice!

Hi - welcome to TPF! I am not an authenticator, so I cannot comment about your bag. If you read the first post in this thread, you will see the posting guidelines and will note that bags that have already been purchased cannot be authenticated here.

However, if you are concerned about your bag's authenticity, you can always consult a private authenticator. Bababebi (she has a website) is extremely well thought of.

Comments if any: The website claims the designer ID is P square although the it looks like R square in the picture. In addition, the R looks crooked. It is also on the left side.

Reasons why some requests may not be answered:
  • We will not give authentication to members who buy and resell bags.
  • Authenticators will only comment on current, not closed, auctions and sales. We won't authenticate Instagram, Gumtree, Kijiji or CraigsList, Facebook or Etsy items.
  • Authenticators will only authenticate for members who post in a range of threads, instead of just requesting free authentication for designer items.
  • We will not authenticate for those who post photos only and cannot provide a link to a live online auction/sale.
  • If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.
