Cleaning monogram canvas (not vachetta)

What do you guys use to clean your monogram canvas? I have a bit of caked-on make up on mine and am wondering what would be best to get it off.

From what I can remember and I hope I'm right is that non-alcoholic baby wipes work well?

How do you protect the canvas from sunlight fading? Spray anything on it?

I've just used water and maybe a little hand soap, works fine. Also was fine on black MC canvas, I haven't had any chipping or fading (vachetta on that purse is a different story).
