Hoping for some advice please. I purchased the mini clash earrings in rose gold last week in person and whilst they’re lovely, the length of the post is so small that they’re making my earlobes very tender after a day of wear (at least I think that’s why and they’re certainly short compared to other hoop earrings I own). I also find one quite difficult to get off, which is further adding to my discomfort.

I’ve contacted the SA I purchased them from and they’ve replied saying I can return or exchange in “pristine” condition within 14 days. I can easily return to the store but my concern is that they won’t pass for pristine as I’ve worn them for a few days. I’m also aware from other posts on here that they’re meticulous in their examination of returns.

Does anyone have any advice or experience of an issue like this? I fear I’m going to be left with a pair of earrings I can’t use. TIA

I would find out about having them serviced to make longer posts. I know that VCA does this, I would be surprised if Cartier didn’t offer that as well. You will likely need to pay a fee for it, though.

I'm pretty sure Cartier service team can lengthen the posts in a way that the earrings would still look like they were designed to look. Your SA should be able to confirm that, if they're not helpful I would call the generic CS number and they will help clarify if it's possible or not. Cartier has done for me both, lengthened and shortened the posts (on Love earrings).
As to returns, I don't think you'd scratch or damage the earrings after a few days, so you should be able to return. You can clean them thoroughly with alcohol and check if there are any scratches.

Did you wear the necklace more, handle it more, maybe shower in it ever? I had a Clash bracelet that I ended up replacing with one size smaller, and when I got the smaller size it was much more pink. I took a polishing cloth to the older one, and it became much more pink again. So I think it was the known effect of Cartier rose gold color fading to more yellow gold color.

I wore the necklace more but haven't showered frequently with it, while the earrings are brand new. However, the RG of the earrings look like normal RG instead of the Clash RG.

I'll stop by a boutique and see if it's just my earrings or if it's a wear issue. Thanks!

Oh that is interesting. I know that the bracelet is a mixture of rose gold and yellow gold, so maybe the earrings are just rose gold. Please let us know what you find out!

@marble19 - So, I actually tried my earrings on my fingers and it does works as a ring, but I don't wear it as a ring bc the needle part is uncomfortable and I don't want to accidentally bang the earring and bend the needle.
Good point and thank you for responding! I can't imagine how annoying it would be with the needle backing. If it was comfortable, it would have been a great way to get both earrings and rings in one purchase

On a different note, has anyone bought Clash pieces at different points in time and noticed a difference in the RG hue? My earrings are more pink than my necklace, and Idk if it's the lighting or the rose gold comes in different colors depending on the batch.
I bought the ring first, then, bracelet, then necklace. The ring is more yellow than the bracelet and necklace. I don’t shower in my jewelry but the ring is more yellow than all my other RG Cartier things.

@nicole0612 @anabelle05 I went to the store and the earrings were same color as the pair in-store, and lighter than the normal RG love earrings. I think my Clash necklace's color has just changed a bit bc I've worn it for half-a-year. The SA helping me said that RG's color changes based on wear.

I should've compared my Clash necklace's color to an in-store version but forgot to.

Does anyone find the Clash bracelet very beautiful in certain lighting and less beautiful in other lighting? To me, it's the prettiest when it looks like a row of bullets, but in different kinds of lighting it can also look like a centipede. I'm so torn, but I also can't get this bracelet out of my head. Silly problems.

Have you got a chance to try it on?
