SO you are getting them from the department stores as well, with the handles and hardware wrapped in plastic?

That's good to know. At one time they were all wrapped in tissue only and we were able to use that as another way to verify authenticity. This is no longer the case as we found many were coming from the website with handles and hardware wrapped in plastic. It appears they are popping up that way, everywhere now, so that rumor is OUT!

I've had orders from Macy's come with nothing wrapped. Doesn't mean that it isn't authentic.. Just shows horrible packaging, lol. On a side note, I love everything wrapped in tissue. It adds to the excitement 🎉

Hi! I have a question. Is it true that the handle straps of MK Kempton Nylon Tote are made of plastic & not leather? And that the handles frayed after a month of use??? Not a good buy if true.

I am not sure what they are made of, but what does anyone expect?? It is the cheapest bag MK puts out averaging around only 79.00 and are often found on sale for only 50 dollars. It's the old saying, you get what you pay for. You want more quality ? You have to look at their more expensive lines

Do you want the Happy meal?? or the Full Meal Deal ?? lol! Know what I mean?? You pay more for the Full meal deal and you get more, than you do with the Happy meal! lol! . Same principle applies with most any products. Take your choice!

3. Another rumor is Michael Kors is NOT MADE IN CHINA??? False! MOST of their bags are made in China!

4. Michael Kors is never faked because they are too cheap and are not considered a luxury item. FALSE!! We see more fakes than you can shake a stick at and most of them are on the cheaper bags! Counterfeitors go by what is most popular. They do not go by what costs the most. Even Levis jeans are being counterfeited!
Also, Michael Kors is a luxury designer and has MANY bags in the 3 zeros pricing, ranging from 1000 to 3000.00!! Most of them come from the MICHAEL Kors Collection. The less expensive bags are in their MICHAEL Michael Kors collection, and these bags are counterfeited the most!

5. Michael Kors will ALWAYS have a made in country tag on them separate from the heat stamp. FALSE. While MOST of them do, there are bags that are lined in leather, that do not have this tag and the country made in, will be include on the heat stamp. Or it will be a separate leather heat stamp tag, as seen on the Miranda.

I need to correct where I said in item #4, MK has bags between 1000 and 3000.00. That was supposed to be 30,000.00. Missed a zero there. Excuse me.

yeah, we've actually started wrapping bags with plastic now too unfortunately. if it's authentic from the website it will come with MK silver logo paper wrapped over the bag in the box and a postcard 'signed' by Michael himself. (corporate MK employee here) just sharing some info

Good to know. At one time all the zippers and handles and such, were wrapped in tissue. Now they are wrapping them in plastic as well. Do you work at the headquarters in what city? They manufacture these bags from all over the world. I wonder if they do it different depending which country they come from, as well??

Packaging from retail stores that sell authentic MK bags like Macy's, Bloomingdales, Neimans, Lord & Taylor, Sak's, or any other high end retailer does not ship with the card, box, or same packing as MK online site.

+1. And the MK flag store in Norway doesn't ship in the MK box either, and no card from "the boss himself". Guess we're not as important customers as the ones in the US..
