City Bags' Inside Pockets

The City bags I have do not have these pockets. Is this a new thing?

Are they very functional? Can phones fit?

I have bags with, and without. Honestly, I don't use them a lot because:

• A larger mobile sticks out of the pocket (could fall out).
• The mobile (or if you try and place one phone in each pocket- the right pocket is not as wide as the left btw) literally just flops around and could be scratched by the bag's zipper if that would bother you. This because most mobiles today will stick out quite a bit of the pocket.
• You can't zip or close them which means whatever you put in them, like keys or a wallet, don't feel safe but could easily fall out (the City isn't exactly a bag that keeps its shape )

I MUCH prefer the zippered pockets and would have preferred one or two more of those As it is now, I use the two zippered pockets and slg/pouches. As you can see the only time the phone is upright, is when I'm holding the handle.

I use the side pockets to keep lipsticks, lipbalm and handcream. Easy access for those stuffs, and they will ‘stand’ inside the pockets
